This was, in my humble opinion, the BEST part of last night. It trumps even Jordin's performance that, I am loathe to admit, brought tears to my eyes, so beautifully and powerfully it came across. Last night's show was pretty wonderful; Even Phil finally came through, and I almost liked him for a second, but then the judges told him country was it for him, and he was all, "Yeah, that's what I wanna be! A country star!" And I haven't heared him say that before, EVER. It felt like sucking up, but what do I know?
However, I am getting away from my original point. Sanjaya was back to his old tricks, of SUCKING Massively! He was joined by Chris and Lakisha (which is sad) and oddly enough, Blake, although the judges still kissed his @$$ all over the place about how he was wonderful. I wasn't impressed, Blake, and I am a fan. Phil was better than you last night. So Sanjaya sucked it all over the stage, and Simon, who was pretty cool to him last week, comes straight out and reitterates his lack o' talent. And Ryan jumps in all catty with, "Well, you never liked Sanjaya anyway" or whatever he said. Time stood still for a split second as that hung in the air. Then Simon let him have it, and I nearly laughed myself sick. Telling Ryan to shut up and calling him Bigmouth. AWESOME!!! Ryan got all serious, realizing he had gone too far, and that now Simon will never love him again. He wasn't even looking into the camera when they came back from the break, but staring out of the corner of his eyes right at Simon. Oh, ladies, PUH-LEASE! Can't all of this silliness wait until after the show? Then you can cry and throw things or whatever, but right now the world is watching the slow speed come apart of your relationship. All over Sanjaya! Maybe he really is the Devil? Who else could break up Simon and Ryan?

I thought Simon was really rude... and IMO that outburst wasn't good for the show.

Ryan is always taking the piss with Simon in an effort to gain some clout in the show. He just went too far. What he said was unfounded, and really mean if it had been true. It also could really effect the show in a negative way if the judges personal feelings about the contestants were more influential than their singing critiques. But they aren't, and Ryan was just being an @$$ to Simon, so Simon just reduced him to an even smaller man. GAWD, was that ever some good TV!

If you've ever seen a 'cheap' version of AI, you can see how polished the real version is. The production quality is quite high and kudo's to them for that.
When Ryan said Simon never liked Sanjaya anyhow, I first thought maybe Ryan didn't see last weeks show.
For a production as polished as AI is, Ryan didn't make sense with his comment. Watch all previous episodes. Either Sanjaya sucked and Simon told him he did, or Sanjaya was ok and simon said he was ok. Where did the "Having it out for him the whole time" come from?
My second thought was that the interaction between Ryan and the judges is somewhat pre-planned. Preplanned to come off as if it were spur of the moment rhetoric. That whole exchange seemed beneith the production quality of the rest of the show. If it's unplanned, the people in the roles need to polish their individual acts. If it's preplanned for ratings purposes, they need to work on timing and delivery.

these last four weeks probably have been stressful for everyone on ai... with the stern thing, comments about paula's drinking....
unfortunately, with the eyeroll thing making headlines, a lot of people will be taking the opportunity to put in their half cent, and the next weeks will be hard as well.

Are you talking about when Simon rolled his eyes at Chris? He wasn't rolling his eyes because of the comment about the victims of the shooting, but about the thing Chris said about nasal singing being a legit form of singing. He was horrified that people would think otherwise, so he is trying to clear things up in interviews, and that is also why he made that weird comment at the end to Blake. Go to TMZ.com and you can read about it.

i believe that he was rolling his eyes because of chris and not v-tech... i also believe that a lot of cruel people are going to try to get simon to resign from american idol.... it is on usa news items and i know it will be on the news.
a lot of people are compaining about this...
i watched it 3 times and this i know- simon was already mad with chris and chris completely surprised everyone with his statement... and as blunt as simon is everyone knows that if he had any comtempt for v tech he would have said so right then and there... something 'like i don't care about v tech so shut up.' but simon did not say anything... just sat there... but now a bunch of people are demanding blood

The antics between Ryan and Simon are pretty much staged. From what I've read, they're actually pretty good friends, and just carry on like that for the show.
I was glad that Simon went off about Sanjaya, though. What he said, was pretty much felt by most people. Enough is enough. Get him out of here.
