Well once again I found myself out of sync with the judges on some of the performances.
Phil Stacey was the man tonight...he layed it out sweet and I could see him on any country stage...all that was missing was a cowboy hat.
Jordin was precious and her voice golden, great job.
Then came Sanjaya! I was delighted! He was back to making me roll on the floor with laughter again! Too bad he may actually get voted off this week, even though he would likely give us much amusement in the future. "Utterly Atrocious" sums it up great.
Chris richardson was awesome. I don't know what drugs the judges were on, but I loved the dude tonight. He sang great, looked great, sounded great and his style came through despite the genre. Good stuff.
Kiki was alright to me, not near as bad as the judges made her sound. I thought she did a credible job with the song and kind of made it hers. Not fantastic, but certainly not bad.
Melinda's wild style was cool. I aint into that type of thing, but she did it well for what it was.
Blake...the only thing I can say is that this dude amazes me in that he can come up with so many new and different ways of boring me to death. zzzzzzz...nice summary there.
All in all a pretty cool show and McBride who I don't really know much about at all seemed really likeable and cool.

I knew as soon as they said Lakisha was singing a song by a formal Idol winner that no matter how she did she was going to get a bad critique..

All in all Boubon I do believe I would have to agree with except Chris didn't do it for me I think he could have selected a better song...

I too thought Chris had a bad night. He was out of tune much of the song. Jordin was awesome. She, Phil and Melinda were the top performers. Blake was good but uneventful. Although he also had many missed notes.
My picks for the bottom three are Chris and Sanji and probably Lakisha.

My thoughts exactly! I also thought Blake was boring last night, although I do often like him. And I think Chris is going home. He was all kinds of out of tune last night, and he knew it, which is why he got all flustered at Simon about how singing nasally is a type of singing. Yes, it is, Chris. The bad kind. Poor kid! The only thing worse than getting voted off American Idol is knowing that Sanjaya is still there. And yet, I will MISS HIM when he goes home. He has made this season of Idol so much more entertaining. And Sanjaya has to be on the show when Borat is on! That might be the funniest moment of television ever.

oh good God, that could be very dangerous..... Borat doesn't give a monkeys backside what he says, who he says it to or who he offends in the process.... I'm not sure Sanjaya could cope with that....(The film is a total riot...) I would like to see him have a few words with Simon though... ;)

bah...I don't count people out for being off pitch here and there, that happens to most people now and again (Taylor Hicks and Melinda do stand out for not doing so). Chris wasn't perfect, but I enjoyed watching him. I say that from a very neutral standpoint, I am not a Chris fan per se. But he hasn't bored me yet and the nasally stuff is hogwash. To intimate he sings through the nose on a constant basis is just false, even Simon wasn't saying that. I don't think everyone or anyone has to agree with me, just my opinion.
