Even if Sanjaya were to leave next week (which probably won't happen...), subversive elements like Howard Stern & VFTW will be emboldened & empowered to pull the same stunt next year -- promote a weak singer at the expense of those more talented.
Given the short attention span of the American public, it doesn't matter what happens to Sanjaya. He is already deemed a superstar inspite of himself. People will soon forget how he became a superstar, but he will still become a power force in entertainment -- all because he was mediocre.
Just like those in the very early episodes who do anything to get onto television (even if it means making fools of themselves...), more will be emboldened to try breaking the talent barrier turning American Idol further into a media circus.
Fox & Idol executives will closely watch public response in order to adjust the strategy & formula to maintain high ratings.


I don't know if Idol can resurrect itself after this season, but Fox will certainly try a season seven. Yet there is one thing that is clear, we are seeing Idol jump the shark this season.

If you want something better, boycott. If you want more of the same, continue to watch. It's that simple.

I think it's the FEAR FACTOR element. Some Americans for some sick reason enjoy watching people be hurt, toyed with, manipulated, whatever.

We have a tiny little bit of power by voting. Some people use it for good to propel deserving talented people into a career...while others use it to entertain themselves, by watching talented people be sent away early and a nice naive guy like Sanjaya or the clueless (but getting clued in more each week) Haley, be made a mockery of...not a shining moment for ppl who do that IMO

I think you are totally wrong. Sanjaya is 17 years old and he has much room for improvement. If he does manage to make an album people will flock to it and want to see how good it is just based on controversy alone. This doesnt include his fans. I bet he will go platinum really fast. If he wins this idol it wouldnt even matter. Taylor is the king and butt of all jokes. He took out some of the greatest talent on AI ever.Taylor is and will forever be the pride and glory of the VFTW website unless some future talentless freak actually makes it to #1. I am a nurse, I work in the ER of a Hospital saving lives for a living. I am also an EMT...again saving lives for a living. I make more money in one day than you could possibly make all week.

I work these jobs, Cook hot meals every day, maintain a home for my family and raise my daughter. I am able to do all of these things and post on a site. For us educated people, we can do plenty of things in one day.
