I was thinking of those past years when Johnny O'Keefe and John (Johnny then) Farnham had their own shows. Seeing that tv seems to have a love affair with Guy, wouldn't a weekly show featuring Guy be great :D A show where he could pay tribute to different genres of music, and artists. Who else but Guy could do a show like this. It always annoyed me when people used the word karoke when talking about Guy. What Guy does when he covers a song is never that. He manages to put his own mark on the song while still paying full respect to the original artist. So many songs have been ruined in the past by covers or talent show contestants. But you could never say that about Guy. Look at 'What a Wonderful World', and 'I Still Call Australia Home', and the Medleys on Kerri-Anne :wub: :wub:
So my Guy tv show would feature only Guy. Who needs guests. Each week he would choose a different genre or artist to pay tribute to. At the end of the show he would sing one of his own compositions which reflects the weeks choice. Here are some ideas for episodes.
Gospel: Ah how beautiful would that be. The finale would of course be 'Taller, Stronger Better'.
Jazz: With 'Be Mine' to finish.
R+B: So many of his own to choose as the final song. Maybe he should just use the whole of Beautiful Life.
Reggae: That would be fun. With 'I'm Gon Getcha' to end the show
Soul: 'Trade this love' or 'Takin me over' to finish.
The Beatles: How divine would that be. A full version of 'Hey Jude', and maybe Johns' 'Imagine'. And of course 'Closer To The Sun' as the last song :wub:
Cat Stevens: Had to throw in this one. One of my favourite musicians of all time. He will do this show just for me. 'Morning Has Broken','Where Do The Children Play' and 'Lady D'Arbanville'. 'Father and Son', a song ruined a few years ago by a cover. Only Guy would do it right. And the last song would be 'Do Life'. A song so Cat Stevens like in lyrics and music :wub:
Country: :blink: Well he can choose all the songs for that one, as I have no suggestions. Should be interesting, though. He could sing Country 'Elevator Love' as the finale.
