Ohhh don't get me started on Katrina. Here in FL, after the 2004 hurricanes we had, (one was on us for 3 days! Then there were 2 more after it!) It was still NOTHING like what hit the Gulf coast.

It ain't just New Orleans that was devastated, it is the entire region and across 3 states. It doesn't seem possible that the area will ever get back to the way it was before, I know that the people who lived through it will be dead and gone before it FEELS like it is back to normal.

There was a monster hurricane that ripped Galveston apart in 1900. The entire island was covered by the ocean and wiped out, and NO ONE evacuated because they didn't know it was coming. I guess you can get back to normal, but not in your own lifetime. If that makes sense.

Now see ya got me started. Ohhh dear.....

Let the republicans and conservatives go and fight because we know that they sit here at home....Enjoying life while others Mostly young people are doing the battle.....If those who were all for this war would go fight they would be back home with their tails between their legs crying about how awful of it is and how we can't win!!!!

There are Republicans and conservatives over there fighting. They were the first to sign up right after 911. I am "sponsoring" several. They are some of the true patriots who want evil muslims destroyed. And will NEVER forget what those muslims did 911.

Saying/believing we can't win is pathetic but so typical of the left who wants us to lose. :(

We've finally given liberals a war against fundamentalism, and they don't want to fight it. They would, except it would put them on the same side as the United States. -AC

It's just the facts as long as our soldiers don't know who the enemy is, this battle is not going to be won.....How can they tell....the people blend in with the Iraq's that are happy we are there.....It is a sad state because this is urban warfare and we can win if we nuke the entire country.....But think of all the innocent lives that will be lost!

wow. it is sad that NO is still in shambles but don't blame this all on the president. after all you have to help people who want to help themselves. and lets face it. alot of those people down there don't want to help themselves. they want everything handed to them on a freaking silver platter and i for one hate that we do give in to them. i live in texas but a from the west. in AK in the 1960's they had a huge earth quake and it devastated the entire down town of anchorage but a year later everything was going good again and a few years later if you weren't from there you would never had known just how bad the devastation was. i guess it all goes back to how badly do you want to work to fix what was lost? if you dont want to work then don't bitch. if you want to complain then do what you can to fix your situation.

Whatever, dude (or dudette?)!
Did you 'create' that picture? That's cold-blodded. But that's okay - do what you gotta do. No matter what, I will continue to support my president! Let's see if whoever replaces him can do as good a job as he has done.

What I can't get over is the fact that our troops serving (the vast majority of them VOLUNTARILY) don't complain about being there - they're proudly fighting this war. IT'S EVERYBODY ELSE DOING THE COMPLAINING!

God Bless America!
God Bless President Bush!
God Bless you (and anyone else who reads this and doesn't agree)!

And PLEASE, I know all of y'all's thoughts/comments on this subject already. So reply to this posts only if you agree, please. I've heard (read) enough of the 'negative' (positive to you, I'm sure). I thought I'd (FINALLY) make MY comment(s).

I guess President Bush would have been expected to set up camp in N.O.? Would that have made everyone happy? I think he's shown fair enough support to the city - more so than our much closer governor!

The blame in this whole thing does not belong to Bush. Put blame where it belongs on Mayor or N.O. and the Governor. These are the people that sat on their a$$ and did nothing knowing what could happen. Is it Bushes fault that what like 60 busses that could have been used to bus people out were not used? Was it Bushes fault that were left to die in hospitals? No it was not Bushes fault it was the Mayors and Governors fault. They waited and waited before it was too late to ask for help.

Hey I can laugh at photos like the one shown. It is actually funny but there are actually people out there that think it is real and it makes people believe that Bush is not doing his job. Hell there are a lot of people out there that even if Bush was there using a shovel for 6 months himself trying to fix N.O. it would not be enough.

I see it as the economy is doing really well and people just need something to bitch about with Bush so they use every opportunity then can. i.e. like this firing the attorney generals. Big F'in deal Bush has what 5 or 8 people fired and there is a huge uproar. Clinton when he got in fired ALL 93 US attorney generals. Now don't you think that should be something to bitch about? No because that was his prerogative just like it was Bushes to fire those 5-8 people.

Bottom line is get over Bush people, he could care less what you think and he will do what he feels right. He has no worries about getting back in because he couldn't even if he wanted to so just let the man do his job.

Wow Hydra-- great post. And so true. I know W was *PLEADING* with Blanco to evacuate but she 'knew better.' And Chocolate Nagin was up in his penthouse watching his chocolate city being destroyed. They have both admitted they should have listened to W. :(

W did everything possible and you're right, it would never be enough to appease the liberals. They hate him, America, us, and everything else good in our country. :(

We have appropriated billiions more in new legislation for NO that will probably be attached to the surge funding. And most of it will be squandered just like before Katrina. :(

Ha.. its so easy to distinguish those who don't live so close to New Orleans from those of us that do. Let me put it to you like this, it was a slum before Katrina and it will be even worse now. People didn't evacuate New Orleans because they didnt want to miss out on the chance to loot those that did evacuate. Did you see the videos of the people wading through 4 ft deep water with TVs over their heads? What about the one with the New Orleans cop pushing a stroller through Wal-Mart filling it up with stuff while looters were running around stealing other stuff. Did you hear about the 35 Cadillac Escalades that were stolen from the Caddy dealership by, um, the police department? Yeah, the 3 cops that returned them claimed they needed vehicles because their police units got flooded. The rest of the officers and the escalades are still missing in action. How about the people 'stranded' at the super dome that started shooting at the National Guard choppers as they made their descent onto the grounds to rescue them and bring the supplies. I've heard the audio feed from one of the choppers, its pretty amusing.

New Orleans is the sewer system of this state and this region. It will never be nor has it ever been anything remotely related to paradise. Nothing you can read will ever make you understand. You have to have grown up in and around it.

But aside from that, there were plenty of people here helping evacuees:

For a women who continually mentions the intense scrutiny and repressive barrage of attacks and criticism that she endures on this board, you have no problem dispensing your veiled vitriol aimed at anybody that takes an opposing point of view from yours.

You have repeatedly labeled those that are anti-war proponents and who criticize the President as traitors, ignorant, and redundantly, stupid.

It's not an admirable personality trait to never question authority. You will now undoubtedly take on the persona of a "Victim", and report me to the proper authorities. I welcome debate. The reason that I have never debated anything with you is because you are totally incapable of looking at an opposing point of view. Because of this inability to empathise, civil debate with you is an impossibility.

You can continue your personal attacks all you want. I don't care. There is NOTHING you can say to bother me.

My post was aimed at the title of the thread. Not at a particular person.
But if the shoe fits, wear it.

I'm tired and bored of the personal attacks. Want to discuss/debate something? Then do it. The hijack/humor gets old too.

You're a piece of work

Ha ha ha. Ha ha ha.

I sure wish people would contribute to the discussion/topic of the thread instead of personal attacking/hijacking. It looks like kindergarten around here. I wish they'd grow up! But instead they are just acting like liberals....

This comment is directed at the title of the thread.

Bush should be ashamed of the big stupid morons that he has snowed into believing he is any semblance of what a prezeedent should be.
He should be ashamed of the idiotic parrots that will repeat whatever the righttards spout as being truth, justice and the American way even though it smacks of Nazi Germany, oppression and deteriorates our great constitution of the United States.
He should be ashamed of the fact that he has driven this country to the brink of bankruptcy for the sake of his penis envy.
He should be ashamed that he has made our great country into the laughing stock of the world because of his stupidity.
He should be ashamed of the genocide being committed in a civil war he is responsible for unleashing.
He should be ashamed of the separation of the upper and lower classes and the erosion of the middle class because of his and his cronies money grubbing war and oil schemes.

Bush should be ashamed, but we should be even more ashamed of ourselves for letting this happen a second time.

Never again, God, please, never again.

Oh, I was only joking BTW... :D

Liberals love to call conservatives as ignorant, stupid, obtuse, mindless, irrational and retarded. Liberals use this "stupid" tactic in order to avoid ACTUALLY HAVING TO INTELLECTUALLY ENGAGE WITH SOMEONE WHO THINKS DIFFERENTLY THAN THEY. I see this in politics. After all ... you really don't have to consider the opinions offered by someone who disagrees with you if you can successfully and falsely brand them as ignorant.
