i have been watching american idol for a long time!!!i am so disappointed this year thus far!!its obviously a farce!!!sanjaya may be sweet/cute but HE CANNOT SING!!!!no one can say he is better than brandon , sundance, sabrina, aj, and jared!!!what is going on??i heard howard sterns listeners are voting for sanjaya as a goof!!!this is awful !!!!something needs to be done!!!good talent is being sent home as a joke!!!i say the big wigs(producers or someone w/authority) needs to step in ASAP!!!otherwise what's the point??i am thoroughly disgusted!!!
i don't know how sanjaya can come back week after week, knowing it's a joke!!!
The same thing happened last year with Kevin Covais......calm down until he at least makes the top ten...

Kevin was a good singer...It all comes down to preference. I don't think it's fair to say someone is a bad singer because of their style. Sanjaya has talent and he deserves to be there. I think people have the right to like who they want. I'm not really a fan of Blake Lewis but he's a very good singer.
Kevin was not any better than Sanjaya is.......

I think Kevin was a little bit better, he wasn't fantastic but I could see him ending up in stage productions. I don't see our li'l friend sanjaya having a singing career. Unless it's opening for Will Hung and the Hungettes.
Sanjaya IS sweet though, so I'm sure whatever he does end up doing he will be well received. AS LONG AS IT ISN'T SINGING! :p

Sanjaya should stay and prove the naysayers wrong. I'm hoping he can hang in there. He is a good singer and doesn't deserve this treatment.

Sanjaya has as far as singing goes nothing compared to the rest of the contestants......

This comes from a person whose entire record collection consists of the Chipmunks... :)
Sanji actually has a good voice which he showed in the auditions and the Hollywierd round. But he's not shown it since. Perhaps it's nerves or something, but he's not shown the voice he demonstrated earlier on. Neither did Brandon.
Kevin Covais performed better. He had a wit about him that is comparable to or sharper than Sligh. I think Covais could make it on a TV sitcom. I think he'd excel there. The picture I had in mind was he would be the dad that worked as an accountant and did either stand up or karaoke after work. But he had two sons who were NFL linebacker types. I think it's a hit.....

I like the show idea, I might start watching sitcoms if it ever goes to production.
