Aw darn, what a shame. NOT! The Ditsy Twits were snubbed by the Academy of Country Music. HA! :D

ACMs Ain’t Whistlin’ Dixie (Chicks)

Sure they swept the Grammy Awards, but apparently the Dixie Chicks don’t fly with the Academy of Country Music.:D

Nominations were announced Monday for the annual ACM Awards and there was nary a Chick to be found despite the Texas trio’s five Grammys for Taking the Long Way. The Chicks have won 10 ACMs in their career, including Entertainer of the Year in 2000, but have been shunned by the Nashville establishment since their President Bush-bashing comments in 2003.:(

While the Academy of Country Music isn’t ready to make nice with the Chicks, the organization made sure the usual Nasville-pleasing subjects were accounted for, led by George Straight, Brooks & Dunn and Rascal Flatts. :)

Their album has been number one on the Billboard Country charts for 41 weeks, so I'm sure they have no complaints.

Who watches the ACM Awards anyways? Sorry, but I've never even heard of them! :yelrotflm

And shed the dead weight Reba Macintyer fans from their coat tails. It's onward and upward for the Dixie Chicks! You ol country crooning tumble weeds are just cramping their style anyways...

Yeah I'm sure the Ditsy Twits could find lots of angry anti-American "rockers" to worship them.:(

Their fanbase dumped them right after their snotty anti-Bush comment and they never came back. Sure the twits have some new braindead followers, but I doubt they'll be around very long.

Dear MoveOn member,

With the president sending troops to Iraq and threatening Iran, we need to send a simple message to Congress—the American people don't want endless war, we want our troops home safe.

So we're launching a massive nationwide visibility campaign. Together, we can make sure our leaders see this message everywhere they turn. Can you help out by ordering a FREE bumper sticker and placing it somewhere visible?

http://pol.moveon.org/endthiswar?id=9981-7982520-RE2C_I&t=3

If hundreds of thousands of MoveOn members put these stickers on their cars, bikes, doors, windows, or ice chests we'll help make it clear that we want our leaders to stop the escalation, bring our troops home safe, and end this war.

These bumper stickers are high-quality, two-color stickers that will look great wherever you stick 'em. Click below to get your free bumper sticker, no strings attached!

And you can whine all you want. I don't see your newly elected Congressmen

p.s. I would be careful with any anti-W/America bumper stickers. Hummers like to eat cars for lunch that have them.

They do not approve of Bush and his cronies......but I welcome you to come to my Church and express your views......:p You would not find support due to the fact that you are wanting to rid this country of so many Americans because they do not have the same beliefs as you....They actually believe that God is a loving God! God IS a loving God and HIS word says homosexuality is an abomination, to worship Him only (not "Allah"), to pray for your leaders, and to obey the laws of your country.

If you want to support terrorism, homosexuality, and criminal alien behavior, then you will have to answer to Him.

L.A. and the southwestern states had compassion for the "immigrants who just wanted a better life" and look what happened to them.:(

He does forgive the sin of homosexuality but if the person keeps committing it, he is spitting in God's face. The Bible says to repent and you will be forgiven. It does not say to continue practicing sodomy.:(

We do love people at our church. We do NOT love the behavior of sinners.

I have no interest in dissing your chosen denomination. I don't believe in man-made denominations, just the Bible.:)

What she's saying is that she goes to a non-denominational church.

However, even those churches have their own rules and doctrines that they follow just like other denominations such as Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal, Lutheran, etc.

Yep, non-denominational churches are denominations unto themselves. Instead of following scholarly teaching and liturgical calendars, they just go with whatever the pastor says. This scares me because that is one step away from a cult. Apparently some of these churches preach hate, and that REALLY scares me.

BTW, I was a music director for a couple of years at one of these non denoms, it was a joke. The pastor discouraged bible study except for the few verses he wanted you to focus on. "My god supplies all my needs" and such. Ugh. I got paid real well there but I had to give it up because of the heresy that was preached.

Another mega church around here, the pastor makes you sign a pledge that you will be HIS disciple rather than a disciple of Christ. Ok, now that just smells bad from every angle. His church complex is growing by leaps and bounds. With his prosperity message (oh I despise that!) the only one who is prospering is the pastor!

That goes against everything my Pastor teaches us.....He has been telling us in Sermons and meetings that we are Christs Disciples! The Church we attended in NV was a non-denom and I never heard that so it is quite refreshing..

There are just the two. Love God with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind, the second is like it, Love your neighbor as yourself. (I'm paraphrasing, I have the puppy on my chest and I can't grab the book right now to quote verses).

Those two replaced all the others, I think if more people did just those two things this world might be a whole lot safer. (more boring maybe, but safer) :D

Last time I checked Bush wasn't king.......I realize in his mind he wants to be king of the world, but wishing it doesn't make it so...

Bush isn't an authority on anything especially peace.......
