If God had all these rules he'd even find fault with these judging Christians. Everyone sins in one form or another. It could be as easy as coveting the neighbors new car and boom you have a one way ticket to hell! So if God is this harsh then everyone is doomed, DOOMED I SAY!

PLEASE don't judge Christians by the way some of them act. The bible DOES give us a moral guide, and Christians DO believe that the only way to heaven is through Christ. That is a basic tenet of our faith.

The differences start to emerge when you ask questions like you just did. Ask a Catholic, Episcopalian or other liturgical church that question, and they will (should) say "It is up to God to judge, not us men, and we don't know what happens at the time of death."

Catholics developed the idea of purgatory for just such instances, as they believe that everyone has the chance to be saved.

Ask a fundamental Christian and they will tell you that you are going to hell if you break any of the rules in the book, but they don't look at themselves too closely.

The Calvinist would say, it doesn't matter what you do, you either are chosen before birth or not, but if you are chosen, then you will gravitate toward good anyway.

There are a ton more, but I have to go fry some chicken right now.

Yes. You change by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, repenting of your sins, and changing your old ways. You have a new spirit inside you once you do this. The old man is gone. But you must feed this new spirit or you may revert to your old ways. The Bible is the spiritual food.:)

Being "good' has nothing to do with it. You are either a born-again, saved child of God or you're not.:)

If you don't believe in God or hell it doesn't matter. You choose where you want to spend eternity. And I'm not taking any chances in thinking the Bible is wrong. Or waiting until just before I die. Some people die very suddenly and unexpectedly.

I don't judge all of them by the way some act, I understand that there are bad seeds in every bunch *cough*Sandy*cough*... I know many wonderful Christians whom I love and adore very much. My in-laws for example, they are church-going folk, and whenever we go to visit them in Texas, we go to church and have a lovely time. I am personally not religious (although I grew up attending a Christian church), but I don't judge people who are. Whatever floats your boat is what I say, just don't push it on me or judge me for my choice. I will admit though, that the reason I was turned off to religion in the first place was because of pushy, ignorant "religious" people who were horribly hypocritical and SO angry. It just put a bad taste in my mouth and I haven't looked back since.

A sinner who believes Christ is the son of God, believes he died on the cross, rose again, and who has excepted Christ as there personal Lord and Savior, asked for forgiveness of their sin, will be in heaven.

Salvation is seen by the fruit of a Christian. The bible says to look at the fruit to see a christian.

It is the gift of the holy spirit let lets us know we are saved.

We as Christians try to turn from our old ways, but often fail. We get back up, and try again. We hope to "get it right", but will NEVER deserve the precious gift of salvation that God...our Father, has given us.

I have stole (maybe just an inkpen from work) so I'm a thief.

Am I a sinner? yes.

Only God knows the heart of EVERY sinner, and once He writes our name in the "Lambs Book of Life" it is there to stay, no matter how bad we fall.

And I'm so glad.

You don't earn Salvation, its a gift from our Father. So if you didn't earn it, you can't loose it. All you have to do is ask for it.

He was extremely feminine. He talked with a lisp, and walked like a girl. He hung out with the other females, laughing and joking, like he was one of the girls. He was picked on quite a bit by the other guys, and didn't have any male friends.

One night we were working, and some of the other troops came by and asked if Ollis could hang out with them for a couple of hours. I knew what they were planning. They were planning on beating him up. Of course, I didn't let that happen. I told them "No", and to move on, and reported them to their First Sergeant. Stuff like that happens all the time. There have been instances where the person has been killed by other servicemembers.

You're right. They don't want them around. In fact when a guy does come out, or act gay or feminine, they get picked on, ostracized, and scrutinized, quite a bit. Some even get beat up, or worse.

When I was deployed one time, I used to have this black dude, named Ollis, who worked for me, who was a total fruitcake. He listened to Donna Summer while he was working, meanwhile shaking his booty. He was extremely feminine. He talked with a lisp, and walked like a girl. He hung out with the other females, laughing and joking, like he was one of the girls. He was picked on quite a bit by the other guys, and didn't have any male friends.

One night we were working, and some of the other troops came by and asked if Ollis could hang out with them for a couple of hours. I knew what they were planning. They were planning on beating him up. Of course, I didn't let that happen. I told them "No", and to move on, and reported them to their First Sergeant. Stuff like that happens all the time. There have been instances where the person has been killed by other servicemembers.

Rush that was so good of you to protect him from those evil creeps! Good for you! I can't imagine someone wanting to brutally hurt another living soul. It's beyond me.

I just finished watching the movie Little Children. Wow, what a weird movie! Has anyone else seen it yet? My husband thought it was way over the top for him so he went to bed but I stuck it out. It was kind of freaky! It's the movie with Kate Winslette (I think that's her name from the titanic movie) Disturbing ending but a gripping movie. A very dark movie.

Perhaps. But you can't ignore the other side of that. Romans 1 is clear that homosexuality is a sign (though not the only one) that the person is in open rebellion to God.

I have been on enough boards to know when Christianity and/or homosexuality gets mentioned the results are same.
When an opinion is stated that is not in line with the majority on the board it turns into a shouting match with names called and insults traded. After that it carries over to other topics.

I'm not pointing fingers or sitting on the fence.
I have very diffenate beliefs and will not back down from them for any one or anything as I'm sure most do.

I do think I'm not that far away from being banned myself but time will tell.
