Well the results are now in for both Carrie's 1st week single sales and Bo's first week single sales as far as numbers go. It's official Carrie really is the American Idol.
In Carrie's first week she debuted at #1 on Billboard's singles chart and sold 130, 000 in physical sales and got 39,000 digital downloads of her single. She also entered 4 of Billboard's singles charts.
Bo also debuted at #1 on Billboard's singles chart but sold less than Carrie had the previous week. He sold 109,000 in physical sales and got 13,000 digital downloads.
This means Carrie's single was purchased in some way 47,000 more times than Bo's. Well make that 46,999 - I bought Bo's single. Good on both of them, they are probably two of the most popular AI contestants ever.
