a pic of some of the 'intimate' guy gig - you should have seen them coming in, once they could see him on the screens in the Casino!! They were hanging off the stairs and crouching down looking thru windows!!

They certainly didn't keep the audience to the "official maximum" - you went to the toilet at your own peril LOL. 10 hours waiting was a long time - but a fan has to do what a fan has to do, to watch Guy.

Not the biggest audience Guy has sung before, by far - although it is the SUperdome in Sydney. He has been at the Telstra Dome (over 70,000 capacity) in Melbourne with Franklin Graham (the one in the picture below is when Bishop T D Jakes came to Sydney).

Guy has appeared before the 250,000 at the Adelaide Skyshow and naturally all the christmas Carols since his win - which have huge live audiences. When he did the Sydney one in 2004 people camped out over 24 hours to get the best spaces.

In the first couple of pics, it looks like he needs a bit of a hair trim. It's kind of an afro-mullet type thing.

well in explanation of the afro - his focus is music - in a nutshell. Hair is almost the last thing. He had spikes when he auditioned but by the time the comp started he'd not cut it and it was a mop (naturally very curly hair, although his family - Sri Lankan / Portugese seem to have straight hair). And then the competition ran - and besides being an awesome vocalist / musician (all those re-arrangements of the songs - worth listening to the original versions of say Hello, and then his - both lovely, just different) anyhow the fuzzed hair caught on and he was stuck with it.

Then he was so busy and he started his Beautiful Life tour with the biggest head of hair - huge sugar candy floss sitting around this cherub face!!! First impression was "Whoa!!" - 2nd impression as soon as he would talk (had a Fro Zone - sound check / chat session happening before the concert proper) would be "Gorgeous "sighhh"" LOL.

Then he cut it short so he could go swimming, tho not as short as it is now. He's basically lazy with the hair - I mean, its the last thing he wants to bother with.

Never actually saw the afro mullet thing happening, its prob. more how it ended up. He always does it himself since they pulled it straight like a haystack for his first single video and cover and also album cover. He hated that look

Last year, Australian Idol winner Guy Sebastian joined the Indian Pacific and visited some of Australia's most remote regions to bring festive cheer to the locals. At each stop, schoolchildren were invited to sing Christmas carols, with some children travelling up to 4 hours to meet the train."

this time host Richard Wilkins said something to the effect (afterwards, to Guy) that he thought God had come there to listen. (Bit of a shock to hear Richard comment on that way, but there y'go)

Guy sang Fernando - apparently, just an incredible performance.

Closer to the Sun is on Itunes, with an extra track.

ABBAMANIA will be broadcast on Nov 12

if it gets a great reception, it may go to a series.

from today. He did a little opening of a small shopping mall waaaay out of the way.

They loved him.
And instead of two songs he did his usual 6 plus, with Carl (acoustic) and was fabulous.

And had a wonderful time.

You know, the best thing of this man is that he takes each time as it comes and enjoys it to the full. So he doesn't get fazed or disappointed, or overcome if its 50,000, 200, 20 or 60M.

A fella we know marched straight out of his first concert and booked for the 2nd one, that evening.

He's not the only one. I have to book for 35 people this morning - better rush - there's only a few hours to go

editing because I don't want to bump this up - I actually have lots to do and I'm 'not here'.

Somewhere I saw mention of his parentage *wags finger*

He's none of those.

His mother is Portugese/English - Nellie's parents died when she was a teenager in India, and she and her family were cared for by relatives. Her main language is English, but she can speak Hindi (I think - one of the Indian Languages, anyhow)

Ivan, his father is Sri Lanka, but comes from Malaysia. His second language was also English. Guy was born in Klang, Malaysia and was six when the family moved to Melbourne, Australia. Ivan apparently won a singing contest when he was young, bless him, and one of his brothers is a singing teacher in Malaysia. One of the Australian dwelling brothers, Pastor Larry, is a pretty darned good singer too.

Oliver (Ollie), Guy's eldest brother, is the Music Pastor of Paradise Church in Adelaide. His voice and technique are REALLY good, and he's major on the keyboard and guitar. The next brother Chris after Guy has a fabulous voice, but as yet hasn't shown the same stage presence, although he's cute. Blue eyes, and darker than Guy - who only looks dark if he's been surfing or playing cricket. Jeremy the youngest - his voice was breaking last year, he's not comfortable singing, he's the cutest, but its caught him hard being the brother of the OZ superstar. So he's taken up boxing (much to Nellie's horror) and is a state champ. I've noticed however, that some of his tones show great promise, and his timing is superb. I'm gonna watch with interest.

I don't think his heart's in it though. It's not enough to have talent - you really have to have the talent, the heart, the focus, the push - and the ability to lift up from ALL of that to the next plane. And THAT area is where most trip up and wonder why they can't get ahead.

ah well. I haven't even put the Christmas tree up *wails big time*
