Do you guys have any pets? I love animals haha, especially dogs and puppies. I have a puppy name Lummy. I use to have another dog name Booker, but then unfortunatly, its owner found him after 7 months. Ya I found the dog on the streets and no one claimed it af ter I put up posters about it. Until 2 months ago, its owner "sarah" found the dog when she came back to visit her old city, I guess she lost her dog when she was moving?

I do get emails and pics of him once in a while.

Yep, a new puppy for Christmas. It's a Labadore(hope I spelled it right). My parents gave it to me because my dog died 2 months before. I had him since I was 5 years old. He had cancer. His name was Buddy. I named this dog Nicky. He was 8 weeks old when I got him.

Oh ya I have a goldfish too, I didn't give it a name, never thought of that. I got it for $50, so I bought like 10, put it in a giant fish tank, 2 of it died, because my mom, when she was cleaning the house, she accidently spilled some of the gold fish food thing in the tank, (a lot of it) and the fishes ate too much and died. It was laying upside down..

I, too, am an animal lover. I have two dogs: A Scottie named Duncan and a Doxie-WaWa (a dachshund/chijuajua mix) named Pepe. They are both rescued dogs. I don't believe in buying pedigree animals when there are so many who need homes. Duncan is 7-1/2 and Pepe is about 3 we guess; having adopted him from the street so to speak, we guess-timate his age. They bring us hours of enjoyment, and they get me out of the house twice a day for nice walks -- come rain, shine, snow, fog, or whatever!

And then there were six ... on 'Idol'
By ERIN CARLSON Associated Press writer
April 21, 2006

NEW YORK - Ace Young sang "That's All."

Very fitting. Young became the latest "American Idol" casualty in Wednesday's viewer voting after enduring weeks of speculation that he would soon get the boot.

The 25-year-old Denver native's exit narrowed the "Idol" wannabes to six. The winner will be named May 25.

Judge Simon Cowell said on Tuesday's program that Young's rendition of the retro standard was "charming" - though his voice was "a little nasally."

Host Ryan Seacrest offered encouragement nonetheless. "You've got a bright future," he told the crooner, known for his long locks, smile and falsetto.

Skirting elimination were Chris Daughtry and Paris Bennett, who had the next-lowest vote totals.

Considered a favorite in the competition, Daughtry, 26, made a surprise first appearance in the bottom three despite lavish praise from judges for his restrained rendition of "What a Wonderful World."

Bennett, 17, had similarly wowed judges with her classy, mature take on jazz standard "These Foolish Things."

Wednesday's elimination show featured a performance by guest coach Rod Stewart, who sang the classic "The Way You Look Tonight" from the first disc in his popular "Great American Songbook" series.

Nearly four years since its debut, "Idol" continues to be a ratings powerhouse. It has attracted 25 million to 33 million viewers each telecast this season.

I have two wonderful dogs, Abbie and Sadie.

Abbie is our (mine and my wife's) "first" dog together. She's a German Short-Haired Pointer Mix (black and white spotted/blended, with floppy ears and a long beak... pics to come later). Abbie joined our family in September of 2005. We found her through a rescue group in the Bay Area (CA), called Furry Friends Rescue, and fell in love with her right away. The rescue group picked her up at the animal shelter in Hayward, CA. Don't know her story beyond that. She's about a year old now, and has the energy of a two year old kid. Just goes and goes and goes, then... bam! out like a light. Then wakes up and repeats the cycle. She has an absolutely wonderful personality and not a mean bone in her body.

A month after we adopted Abbie, we moved from CA to Reno-ish area in NV. Bought a home with a huge back yard and adopted Sadie. Sadie is a black lab mix, somewhere between 3-5 years old. We found her through PetFinder.com. She was located at the Carson City Animal Shelter. So we drove down (with Abbie) at the beginning of December to meet her. She had been at the Carson City Shelter since July 2005 (5 months). She wasn't in terrible shape, but she had been eating cheap dog food (which is really bad for dogs) and couped up in her Kennel with little daily exercise, and she looked like she hadn't had a bath since they took her in. A few days later, the shelter took her over to the vet, had her fixed, chipped, and vaccinated and we picked her up that night. Since we had just moved in to our new home, we gave her a whole unfurnished room to herself (away from Abbie) so she could recover from surgery (well, I slept on the floor next to her new doggie bed) for about 10 days. Once she recovered okay, we bathed her, transitioned her over to dog food with actual nutritional value, and introduced her to Abbie. We asked why she had been in the shelter so long (an obvious red flag for any potential adopter), and we were told simply that she's a jumper. We weren't really sure if that meant, like, over fences, or on people. But either way, it's a behavior that can be trained or untrained. Well, we later learned that it meant over fences, as we saw her jumping and nearly reaching the top of our 6-foot back yard fence. We're not really sure what the prior story is with her, but we're pretty sure she had a real rough life before coming to us. She's very timid and easily scared, but absolutely LOVES to cuddle. She didn't even know how to play with toys. We had to teach her to chew on a bone, fetch a ball, and not to be afraid of squeeky toys. We feel good knowing that she's enjoying life now and we're happy to see her coming out of her shell.

At first, Abbie and Sadie didn't get along (as is the case with many female dogs new to each other). Sadie was extremely protective of her "bed" and wouldn't let Abbie near it. She would also confiscate the plushy toys, put them in her bed, and keep Abbie away from them. Early on, they had many fights, and my wife thought we'd have to take Sadie back. She was really upset. But I'm happy to report that Sadie and Abbie now get along like they are best friends (well, they are, I suppose), and they are enjoying their new home and family. And their family is certainly enjoying them! They love to play fetch, lay out under the sun in the back yard, and they love going next door to visit "grandma, grandpa, and aunties" (yes, my in-laws and their dogs and my sister-in-law all live right next door).

Enjoyed reading your dogs' bios. When we got Duncan, our Scottie, he was the Humane Society's "Pet Of the Week" on tv. I already had a Scottie, Wee Bonnie Lassie, and since she was "getting up there" age-wise, thought it might be wise to get another. When I brought 11-month old Duncan in the door, Bonnie met us, herded him into the bathroom, cornered him and nipped his ear, as if to say: "Now I am queen here, and you will do as I say!"
And he did ever after. Bonnie chose the toys, which she gave him to understand were ALL hers. Bonnie said when they would play and when they would sleep and which bowl was hers, etc. But she did it lovingly and patiently and made a good Scottie out of him before her time. We all missed her terribly when she got cancer and had to leave us.
We adopted Pepe when he showed up at the condos where we were living. I had walked Duncan and suddenly noticed a small dog following us. He just fell in behind us as if he belonged there. Half dachshund, half chijuaua, he was about the cutest thing. When we got to our door, he went up to it ahead of us as if to say, "I will live here now." Duncan (who hasn't a mean or competitive bone in his body) was delighted. I went to the condo office and tried to find out where Pepe came from. They told me that he had belonged to another family there who had just had a baby and put Pepe out on the street. Well, he couldn't have found a better place to live and never once even tried to go back to that place. Duncan thinks Pepe is HIS dog. Whenever we get a new toy, we give it to Duncan first who will tease Pepe with it then drop it and let Pepe have it. Sometimes Duncan will tease Pepe by laying on his favorite toy and making Pepe "work" for it. They are best buddies and a source of constant joy to us.

I did have some 10 Japanese carps for a while. Until which one by one, they died of old age. By the time the number of carps reached 6, I decided to migrate them to a lake at the local club so that they would have the company of a larger school of fish.

I transported all of them there and bade them farewell.

As promised, here's a pic of my two furry little four-legged daughters...

Abbie and Sadie

http://www.colonel-alumni.net/IdolMe/AbbieSadie.jpg

This was taken in December (note the Christmas clothes) in the back yard of our new home. There was no landscaping at the time, and Abbie found a piece of fabric left behind by the builders. Sadie chased her around the yard trying to take it away, and this picture was from a pause in the action. :)

I should point out that they're not usually that dirty (lol). We let them have run of the back yard while we were painting inside.

I just got back from walking my two boys. Duncan always pees "downhill" and it runs on his front feet; then he steps in it with his two back feet and proudly walks on. It's hilarious....
