He was quoted today as saying:
"I don't know what the other options are because if we fail here ... I think it's going to be very difficult to maintain the support of the American people," McCain said. "And when the American people don't support a war ... then we aren't able to maintain a foreign endeavor."
He was in a town-hall meeting and speaking about the vote today in Congress in regards to Bush's troop 'surge'.
See, I'm confused. He says that IF American people don't support a war............. ummmmmmmmmmmm........... Mr. McCain, by the latest polls over 70% of the American people have lost faith in Mr. Bush and have no confidence in this 'war'.
So where does the 'if' come in to play?
I've lost all respect over the past 2 years that I ever had for this man.
He allowed Bush to 'bully' Kerry in the last Presidential Election over the same stuff that Bush attacked McCain on during the primaries... but instead of calling Bush out, he supported him in the election.
I have no respect for someone like that... and I have no respect for someone that thinks we should 'escalate' this war (especially beyond even what the President has called for).
