From Neal Boortz:

"The NFL is showing that it's caved into political correctness and has started doing some Hispandering of its own. It turns out the League refused to air an ad for the Border Patrol during the Super Bowl because it mentioned terrorism and illegal immigration. I guess the NFL didn't want to take sides on those on-so-controversial issues. So just how is the Border Patrol supposed to recruit people? Run ads talking about how they patrol the border...but don't arrest Mexicans?

The NFL sent out it's spokesman to issue this weasely, spineless missive: "The ad that the department submitted was specific to Border Patrol, and it mentioned terrorism. We were not comfortable with that. The borders, the immigration debate is a very controversial issue, and we were sensitive to any perception we were injecting ourselves into that." Huh? Since when does the NFL give a rip who runs commercials during the Super Bowl? You could go on all day about some of the ads run during the game over the years and their controversial content.

The message is clear: we must not offend anyone. Can't talk about terrorism...you might offend the Muslims. Illegal immigration? Off-limits...big Hispanic audience. Not to mention the Super Bowl was in Miami. Who would've thought wimpy political correctness would've invaded our most manly of sports. What's next...touch football?" :(
