What do you all think about him?
I thought he said he was inspired by William Hung.
Has a deep, unique and powerful voice..
He just need to impress people to vote for him..

He was interesting, unique, and had a good voice but I don't think he has the "package" to win.

Yeah, the barefoot thing is going to hurt him. Not everybody wants to look at a dude's feet.

I wasn't impressed at all not by many last night...really only 3 did a good job and 2 were fantastic.....Phil Stacey, Blake Lewis were fantastic and Chris Sligh did a good job.....

I think he's an ok singer but his personality will do him in. I've read lots of interviews/stories about him and he's got the whole "don't define me as Asian" thing going on. Well, you know what? Sometimes when we have to describe someone fast we ususally say the first thing we remember about them. And in his case it was "the barefoot Asian guy." It was just the Asian guy before he started his barefoot thing. Whatever. I don't think he'll be around long.

I remember Phil he's bald.......Chris Sligh he's funny and has very curly hair but that's about it.....

I think the bare feet thing was goofy.... He is trying to to have a signature style and bare feet doesn't cut it. Ryan thought his nails needed work ewwwwww!

The whole no shoe thing was just too weird. I thought he was arrogant.

Yes he did come across as arrogant.
Plus he had no chance once he said William Hung was his personal idol.

Why didn't William Hung try out again this year? He might have made it he would have had to take his shoes off first.

He would have to give up his world tour and I don't think he's quite ready to do that. Plus the Hungettes would be so let down if he parked for a couple of months while he won the competition. :rolleyes:

Well, he's gone now. But I think it's a real pity. I really did like him. Maybe I'm biased because I'm Asian too but I personally found him pretty good. I'd rather A.J. Whatsisname go home.

I just rewatched his audition, it was really good, soulful and smooth.

I don't think Phil's problem was lack of confidence. Quite the opposite imo. I thought he was cocky, arrogant, unattractive, and just weird with the barefoot thing. He would not represent very well.
Oh, and I think feet are fascinating. They're so unique. But I don't think people with really ugly feet/toes should wear sandals. That kind of creeps me out. Especially old people with those really thick, yellow toe nails, bunions, etc... Ewww... Sorry.

I didn't like his dance moves. The cool hand movements wasn't his style. It was too much for me. We sure are posting a lot of comments on this guy. He is popular now but for all the wrong reasons. Poor dude! I hope he isn't reading any of these....
All this talk of feet........I had to go out and buy shoes...

Paul Kim is way too good compared with Jacky, hell! :mecry: Jacky Chan being a music star is definitely a joke! he has had a record according to a TV interview recently, even that was 10 years ago, to me, as a chinese, I like his movies a lot but come on, can he just focus on his funny kongfu movies back in Hongkong and don't get himself involved in any area other than this?
I'm thinking maybe you mean Jacky Zhang? Jacky Zhang is the king of Hongkong pop musics and "take me to your heart" by Michael Learns To Rock is the English version of one of his most popular songs....:cool_shad you have no idea what I'm talking about? ok...forget about this...

Back to the topic, Paul Kim did pretty well at the first audition, I liked his voice.....but now I'm just confused, did anyone notice the high note he struggled to hit in his first round song "Careless Whisper", it was just awfull!!he got a good voice but not too much range to me, sorry, still have sequelae here in my ears......:(

He started the song out really weak I thought. I cringed right from the start of the song. It was terrible!

I have to suffer a 80s' song everytime he is on a TV interview or talk show...but he loves his family so much, I like he talking about the fact that he used to gamble a lot and lost almost all he had, then he realized how important his family is to him and started a new life, eventually, he succeeded....:p what I'm talking about this is about Paul kim...hoho..sorry....let's move on..
