What if all contestants were informed before auditions, that if they failed, they would have to pay a physical price.

Like oh, let's say you do your audition barefoot on a electrically charged steel floor grate. If you fail to impress the judges an amount of electricity will be pumped into the grate causing you to dance like a monkey. If while dancing you still fail to impress the three judges, you will be sprayed with water and the charge will be increased.......Any other ideas?

I think they should all wear those "shock therapy" electrodes and let Simon hit the botton and shock them every time they are off key.

I think they should "steal" some idea that have worked well on other reality shows.

For instance- I've noticed that there were a number of really bad auditions wherein the contestant really felt they should be given another chance, or are being treated unfairly by the judges.

At that point- make them do a Fear Factor/Survivor challenge to re-audition. Make them sing with live bugs in their mouths. Let scorpions crawl in their underwear while they brutalize another song.

Maybe we put those who survive the "Idol Factor" challenge on an island and let them battle it out week after week in singing/bug eating/unprofessional stunts, etc. The winner gets a "wild card" spot in the top 24, and may even progress further in the competition simply because the audience was impressed with their ability to sing with maggots in their teeth.

Okay, so now we know why I'll never be a producer for these types of shows...

Perhaps a disclaimer should be added here. None of the clearly mentally challenged auditioners should be allowed to participate in this exercise. I am not totally on board with Sos's idea, but at least someone should keep those who cannot make a logical decision from choosing to participate in this. However, I would LOVE to see the Hotness participate!

I need that recipe to send to my buddy when he gets out from having his three stints put in...................

It does sound delish though.

If he's getting stints I doubt bacon will be on his list of allowed foods.

(Heart stints, right?)

If they want another chance, make them get through a 'Breakthrough and Conquer" like they used to do on "American Gladiator".

Now I like this idea: If you suck=torture.

Although they did something similar to this on that lame show Solitary.

Yes, cardiac stints. And that was sarcasm.

But seeing I just had my screening today (including having to fast before the tests) those bacon waffles sound mighty good right about now.......
