There’s a businessman, there’s a widowed wife
A smiling face with a shattered life
A teenage girl with a choice to make
It’s crowded here in church today
And the preacher says as the sermon ends
“Please close your eyes, bow your heads
Is there anyone in need of prayer,
Oh Jesus wants to meet you here”
Cause we all fall short, and we all have sinned
But when you let, God’s grace break in
(Chorus)
It’s Beautiful, Beautiful
Come as you are
Surrender your heart
Broken and beautiful
Well he’d never been to church before
But he came today as a last resort
His world was crashing in
And he was suffocating in his sin
But tears rolled down as hope rushed in
He closed his eyes, raised his hands
Worshipping the God who can
Bring him back to life again
(Chorus)And it’s beautiful, beautiful
Come as you are
Surrender your heart
Broken and beautiful, beautiful
Come as you are
Surrender your heart
Broken and beautiful
Cause there’s nothing more beautiful at all
Than when His sons and daughters call, broken
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Come as you are
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Come as you are
(Chorus)
Broken and beautiful, beautiful
Come as you are
Surrender your heart
Broken and beautiful, beautiful
Come as you are
Surrender your heart
Broken and beautiful
Come as you are
Broken and beautiful, beautiful
Come as you are
Surrender your heart
Broken and beautiful
Broken and beautiful
Broken and beautiful

You tell me your friends are distant
You tell me your man's untrue
You tell me that you've been walked on
And how you feel abused
So you stand here an angry young woman
Taking all the pain to heart
I hear you saying you want to see changes
But you don't know how to start
Love will find a way (How do you know)
Love will find a way (How can you see)
I know it's hard to see the past and still believe
Love is gonna find a way
I know that
Love will find a way (A way to go)
Love can make a way (Only love can know)
Leave behind the doubt
Love's the only out
Love will surely find a way
I know this life is a strange thing
I can't answer all the why's
Tragedy always finds me
Taken again by surprise
I could stand here an angry young woman
Taking all the pain to heart
But I know that love can bring changes
And so we've got to move on
(Repeat Chorus)
If our God His Son not sparing
Came to rescue you
Is there any circumstance
That He can't see you through
(Repeat Chorus)

I am not as close to God as I have been...........but that shouldn't stop me from posting, my funeral song.... Thats a downer isn't it...LOL!!! (no I am not old, nor sick...I just work with dying people alot, and hear their thoughts...and it makes me think)
So, I really do want this to be sung, by a person not a recording...so anyone that thinks they might be there........make sure it happens, if you have to sing it yourself.......hahaha
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.
’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed!
Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures;
He will my Shield and Portion be,
As long as life endures.
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, Who called me here below,
Will be forever mine.
When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.

You started it Sadie here is my Funeral Song
I come to the garden alone,
While the dew is still on the roses,
And the voice I hear falling on my ear,
The Son of God discloses . . .
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own,
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other, has ever, known!
He speaks and the sound of His voice,
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing,
And the melody that he gave to me,
Within my heart is ringing . . .
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own,
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other, has ever, known!
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other, has ever, known!

Precious Lord, Take my hand
Precious Lord, take my hand,
Lead me on, let me stand,
I am tired, I am weak, I am worn;
Through the storm, through the night,
Lead me on to the light:
Take my hand, precious Lord,
Lead me home.
When my way grows drear,
Precious Lord, linger near,
When my life is almost gone,
Hear my cry, hear my call,
Hold my hand lest I fall:
When the darkness appears
And the night draws near,
And the day is past and gone,
At the river I stand,
Guide my feet, hold my hand:

I've run out of answers
I've run out of time
I'm so confused that I'm losing my mind
It's gonna take a miracle to help me this time
I'm traveling a road that has not one sign
Help me, have mercy for me
Set my soul free
And let the bell in my heart ring, oh
This my cry, hey, this is my plead you see
I need an angel, I'm callin' an angel
Send me an angel down, ohh
I need an angel, callin' an angel
Send me an angel down
I'm carrying a load that's too heavy for me
I've nowhere to go so I'm down on my knees
I'm tryin to see the forest, but there's this one tree
I can't understand why I'm sinking so deep
Help me, have mercy
Won't you have mercy
Set my soul free
And let the bell in my heart ring
Oooohh, this my cry mmm, this is my plead
I need an angel, I'm callin' an angel
Send me an angel down
(Send it all down)
I need an angel, callin' an angel
Send me an angel down
(Send it all down)
Oh something inside of me, tellin me the morning will come (morning will come), yes it will
sometimes it's hard to face the truth so we run (we run)
God if you care at all please don't let me fall by the wayside, oh no
Please be my guide , would you light my path ( light my path)
Take me, shape me, mold me , change me, teach me, fill me, save me
I need an angel, I'm callin' an angel
Send me an angel down

Between You & Me, DC Talk
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnHVQl3faVs
Sorrow is a lonely feeling
Unsettled is a painful place
I’ve lived with both for far too long now
Since we’ve parted ways
I’ve been wrestling with my conscience
And I found myself to blame
If there’s to be any resolution
I’ve got to peel my pride away
(chorus)
Just between you and me
I’ve got something’ to say
Wanna get it straight
Before the sun goes down
Just between you and me
Confession needs to be made
Recompense is my way to freedom now
Just between you and me
I’ve got something to say
If confession is the road to healing
Forgiveness is the promised land
I’m reaching out in my conviction
I’m longing to make amends
So, I’m sorry for the words I’ve spoken
For I’ve betrayed a friend
We’ve got a love that’s worth preserving
And a bond I will defend
Just between you and me
I’ve got something’ to say
Wanna get it straight
Before the sun goes down
Just between you and me
Confession needs to be made
Recompense is my way to freedom now
Just between you and me
I’ve got something to say
In my pursuit of god, I thirst for holiness
As I approach the son, I must consider this
Offenses unresolved, they’ll keep me from the throne
Before I go to him my wrong must be atoned
If there’s to be any resolution
I’ve got to peel this pride away
Just between you and me
I’ve got something’ to say
I wanna get it straight
Before the sun goes down
Just between you and me
Confession needs to be made
Recompense is my way to freedom
It’s my way to freedom
It’s my way to freedom (2x)
I’ve got something to say, so let me say it today
It’s my way to freedom (2x)
I’ve got something to say, confession needs to be made
It’s my way to freedom (2x)
I’ve got something to say, confession needs to be made
It’s my way to freedom (2x)
I’ve got something to say

Get Down, Audio Adrenaline
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htSkt77aDvs
Lavishly our lives are wasted
Humbleness is left untasted
You can't live your life to please yourself, yeah
That's a tip from my mistakes
Exactly what it doesn't take
To win you've got to come in last place
To live your life you've got to lose it
And all the losers get a crown
I get down and He lifts me up
I get down and He lifts me up
I get down and He lifts me up
I get down
All I need's another day
Where I can't seem to get away
From the many things that drag me down, yeah
I'm sure you've had a day like me
Where nothing seems to set you free
From the burdens you can't carry all alone
In your weakness He is stronger
In Your darkness He shines through
When you're crying He's your comfort
When your all alone, He's carrying you
I get down and He lifts me up
I get down and He lifts me up
I get down and He lifts me up
I get down
This valley is so deep
I can barely see the sun
I cry out for mercy, Lord
You lift me up again
I get down and He lifts me up
I get down and He lifts me up
I get down and He lifts me up
I get down

Chevette, Audio Adrenaline
Twenty years ago I watched in awe
as my dad drove up the driveway.
More than proud to have a brand
new family car.
Thirty miles to the gallon, 0 to 60,
sometimes.
I remember putting down the back
seat and lying in the hatchback.
Looking at the sky watching
trees go by.
I was the son of a preacher, and
he was a rich poor man.
No A.C.
No FM,
And no regrets,
in my Chevette.
The winter cracked the highway and
we tried to dodge the potholes.
He never promised us it would be a
gentle ride.
He never had a problem though,
keeping it on the narrow road.

You Don't Love God, If You Don't Love Your Neighbor
Rhonda Vincent
There are many people
who will say they're Christians
and they live like Christians on the Sabbath day
But come Monday morning, til the coming Sunday
They will fight their neighbor all along the way
{chorus}
Oh you don't love God, if you don't love your neighbor
if you gossip about him, if you never have mercy
if he gets into trouble, and you don't try to help him
then you don't love your neighbor, and you don't love God
In the Holy Bible, in the Book of Matthew
Read the 18th chapter in the 21st verse
Jesus plainly tells us that we must have mercy
There's a special warning in the 35th verse
Oh you don't love God, if you don't love your neighbor
if you gossip about him, if you never have mercy
if he gets into trouble, and you don't try to help him
then you don't love your neighbor, and you don't love God
There's a God almighty, and you've got to love him
if you want salvation and a home on high
If you say you love him while you hate your neighbor
then you don't have religion, you just told a lie
Oh you don't love God, if you don't love your neighbor
if you gossip about him, if you never have mercy
if he gets into trouble, and you don't try to help him
then you don't love your neighbor, and you don't love God
Oh you don't love God, if you don't love your neighbor
if you gossip about him, if you never have mercy
if he gets into trouble, and you don't try to help him
then you don't love your neighbor, and you don't love God
then you don't love your neighbor, and you don't love God

I love all the old hymns, too. I like playing them on my piano. Here's a song my two sisters and brother (he played the piano) sang for my dad's funeral. It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do, but I know we made him proud.
Consider the Lilies (The Hemphills)
Consider the lilies they don't toil nor spin
And there's not a King with more splendor than them
Consider the sparrows they don't plant nor sow
But they're fed by the Master who watches them grow
Chorus:
We have a heavenly Father above
With eyes full of mercy and a heart full of love
He really cares when your head is bowed low
Consider the lilies and then you will know
May I introduce you to this friend of mine
Who hangs out the stars and tells the sun when to shine
And kisses the flowers each morning with dew
But He's never too busy to love me and you
Repeat Chorus
Consider the lilies.....and then you will know

I've lost a sister, father, grandparents and many friends. In November, one of my sisters and I flew to Baltimore, MD to visit with a friend who was dying of ovarian cancer. We hadn't seen each other in 12 years, but we'd always kept in contact. We surprised her! She was so happy and couldn't believe we'd come from Louisiana just to see her. We visited with her Nov. 3rd - 6th. She passed away on Nov. 27th. I'll always cherish our visit with her, now ---
I've Got More to go to Heaven For
I've been on my way to Heaven for a long, long time
And many things have happened that's clouded up my mind
But I am more determined to walk the narrow way
I've got more to go to Heaven for than I had yesterday
Chorus:
There's a golden street to walk upon a bell I'm going to ring
A brand new angel in the choir - I want to hear her sing
There'll be a lot of friends awaiting when I walk through the gate
I've got more to go to Heaven for than I had yesterday
I've been through the lonesome valley, I've climbed the highest hill
I've known the joy of being in the center of God's will
I've watched the angels come and take my loved ones home to stay
I've got more to go to Heaven for than I had yesterday
Repeat Chorus

My first day of recess
They all laughed at me
When I fell off the swing set
And scraped up my knee
The nurse called my Momma
To say I'd be late,
And when she gave me the phone
I could hear Momma say
"I'm so sorry, son.
Oh I think you're' so brave"
And she was smilin when she said:
When you come home,
No matter how far,
Run through the door
And into my arms
It's where you are loved,
It's where you belong
And I will be here
When you come home
I waved good-bye through the window
As I boarded the plane,
My first job in Houston
Was waiting for me
I found a letter from Momma
Tucked in my coat
And as I flew down the runway
I smiled when she wrote:
I'll miss you, son,
You'll be so far away
But I'll be waiting for the day
When you come home
No matter how far,
Run through the door
And into my arms
It's where you are loved,
It's where you belong,
And I will be here
When you come home
Well, I don't think
She can hear you now,
The doctor told me
Your mother is fading,
It's best that you leave
So I whispered,
I love you
And then turned away.
But I stopped at the door
When I heard Momma say,
I love you, son,
But they're callin me away
Promise me before I go
When you come home,
No matter how far,
Run through the door
And into my arms;
It's where you are loved,
It's where you belong,
And I will be here
When you come home,
When you come home.

Mind's Eye, DC Talk
In my mind, I can see Your face
As Your love pours down in a shower of grace
Some people tell me that You're just a dream
My faith is the evidence of things unseen
In my mind's eye, in my mind's eye
In my mind's eye, in my mind
You know what I'm going through
I know this is true
'Cause You stood in my shoes
Desire's inside of me
But it's hard to believe
In what you cannot see
Can you catch the wind?
See a breeze?
Its presence is revealed by
The leaves on a tree
An image of my faith in the unseen
CHORUS:
In my mind's eye
I see Your face
You smile as you show me grace
In my mind's eye
You take my hand
We walk through foreign lands
The foreign lands of life
In my mind's eye, in my mind's eye
In my mind's eye, in my mind
In my mind I'm where I belong
As I rest in your arms
And like a child I hold on to you
In my moment of truth, yes I do
We can ride the storm
Endure the pain
You comfort me in my hurricane
And I'll never be alone again
In my mind's eye, in my mind's eye
In my mind's eye, in my mind
In my mind I can see Your face
Love pours down in a shower of grace
Life is a gift that You choose to give
I believe we eternally live
Faith is the evidence of things unseen
People tell me that You're just a dream
But they don't know You the way that I do
You're the one I live to pursue
Can you catch the wind?
Can you see God, have you ever seen Him?
I've never seen the wind
I seen the effects of the wind
But I've never seen the wind]
Can you see the breeze?
[There's a mystery to it
In my mind's eye, in my mind's eye
[I see You there again]
In my mind's eye, in my mind's eye
[I know You'll meet me there my Friend]
In my mind's eye, in my mind's eye
[I know You're there, I can touch You there]
In my mind's eye, in my mind's eye
[I want You there, I need You there,
I see You there, I know You care]
[And I believe, and I believe, and I believe

In The Light, DC TALK
I keep trying to find a life
On my own, apart from you
I am the king of excuses
Ive got one for every selfish thing I do
Whats going on inside of me?
I despise my own behavior
This only serves to confirm my suspicions
That Im still a man in need of a savior
I wanna be in the light
As you are in the light
I wanna shine like the stars in the heavens
Oh, lord be my light and be my salvation
Cause all I want is to be in the light
All I want is to be in the light
The disease of self runs through my blood
Its a cancer fatal to my soul
Every attempt on my behalf has failed
To bring this sickness under control
Tell me, whats going on inside of me?
I despise my own behavior
This only serves to confirm my suspicions
That Im still a man in need of a savior
I wanna be in the light
As you are in the light
I wanna shine like the stars in the heavens
Oh, lord be my light and be my salvation
Cause all I want is to be in the light
All I want is to be in the light
Honesty becomes me
[theres nothing left to lose]
The secrets that did run me
[in your presence are defused]
Pride has no position
[and riches have no worth]
The fame that once did cover me
[has been sentenced to this earth]
Has been sentenced to this earth
Tell me, whats going on inside of me?
I despise my own behavior
This only serves to confirm my suspicions
That Im still a man in need of a savior
I wanna be in the light
As you are in the light
I wanna shine like the stars in the heavens
Oh, lord be my light and be my salvation
Cause all I want is to be in the light
All I want is to be in the light
[theres no other place that I want to be]
[no other place that I can see]
[a place to be thats just right]
[someday Im gonna be in the light]
[you are in the light]
[thats where I need to be]

Whoo!

Know what I'm saying, uh!

I just wanna praise you
(What'cha wanna do?)
I just wanna praise you
(Yeah, yeah)
You broke the chains now I can lift my hands
(Uh feel me?)
And I'm gonna praise you
(What'cha gon do?)
I'm gonna praise you
In the corners of mind
I just can't seem to find a reason to believe
That I can break free
Cause you see I have been down for so long
Feel like the hope is gone
But as I lift my hands, I understand
That I should praise you through my circumstance
Take the shackles off my feet so I can dance
I just wanna praise you
I just wanna praise you
You broke the chains now I can lift my hands
And I'm gonna praise you
I'm gonna praise you
Everything that could go wrong
All went wrong at one time
So much pressure fell on me
I thought I was gon lose my mind
But I know you wanna see
If I will hold on through these trials
But I need you to lift this load
Cause I can't take it anymore
Take the shackles off my feet so I can dance
I just wanna praise you
I just wanna praise you
You broke the chains now I can lift my hands
And I'm gonna praise you
I'm gonna praise you
Been through the fire and the rain
Bound in every kind of way
But God has broken every chain
So let me go right now
Take the shackles off my feet so I can dance
I just wanna praise you
I just wanna praise you
You broke the chains now I can lift my hands
And I'm gonna praise you
I'm gonna praise you
[repeat x3]
Take them off
What'cha gonna do, yeah
Take the shackles off my feet so I can dance
I just wanna praise you
I just wanna praise you
You broke the chains now I can lift my hands
And I'm gonna praise you
I'm gonna praise you

Looking For You, Kirk Franklin
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ygTrUovPv8
I've been down so long,
I've been hurt for so long,
There were times I thought I would never see the break of day.
It was hard for me,to see your plan for me
And I tried to believe surely it won't last always
But night after night, (Night after night, Night after night)
I pray Lord don't take your joy from me
Then late one night I read in your love letter that it's gonna get betta
[Chorus:]
Don't cha know that
I've been looking for you
I realized that nothing else will satisfy me
I'm so glad I found you
Now that I'm changed no one can keep me away from you
[Verse 2:]
And my enimies, tried to come for me
And they thought that my world was comin to an end
All the while you knew
That I would make it throgh
I feel closer to you now than when I first began
Jesus you are, (Jesus you are, Jesus you are)
You are my sun right after the rain
Wherever you are
I just wanna be near you
I'm so glad I can hear you
Don't cha know that
I've been looking for you
I realized that nothing else will satisfy me
I'm so glad I found you
Now that I'm changed no one can keep me away from you
Ohoh Ohohoh
Ohoh Ohohoh
Ohoh Ohohoh
Ohoh Ohohoh
Jesus you are, (Jesus you are, Jesus you are)
You are my sun right after the rain
Wherever you are
I just wanna be near you
I so glad i found you
Don't cha know that
I've been looking for you
I realized that nothing else will satisfy me
I'm so glad I found you
Now that I'm changed no one can keep me away from you
Ohoh Ohohoh (ohoho)
Ohoh Ohohoh (ohoho)
Ohoh Ohohoh (ohoho)
Ohoh Ohohoh (ohoho)

Mandissa sang this one in AI-5 and Simon said "I just don't get it." Uh, yeah Simon.
Though I will say the song has much more impact as a duet than a solo. It's also one of my favs. Whenever they play it on KSBJ and we're in the car, UP goes the volume and folks next to us on the road think we're going spastic.

Who am I that You are mindful of me
That You hear me when I call
Is it true that You are thinking of me
How You love me it's amazing
(Chorus)
I am a friend of God
I am a friend of God
I am a friend of God
He calls me friend
God Almighty, Lord of Glory
You have called me friend
I am a friend of God
I am a friend of God
I am a friend of God
He calls me friend
He calls me friend
He calls me friend...

Yeah, I remember that. He also said it was "indulgent". Whatever, Simon.
Yeah, it's a favorite in our house too. Whenever I have it cranked up, my daughters always start dancing.

Great song to listen to, while on the treadmill.
CeCe Winans, Anybody Wanna Pray
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RS2B5cIa4T8
Look at the world and all the trouble it's in
We've traded righteousness for pleasures of sin
And now that things have gotten way out of hand
You're wondering how and you're wondering when
Hate is filtered right into your home
Takin' the love that the family once owned
Mothers against the daughters, dads against sons
The way that it looks, seems like evil has won
(CHORUS)
Anybody wanna pray with me, anybody wanna pray with me
Anybody wanna, anybody wanna pray with me
(and chase all these troubles away)
Anybody wanna pray with me, anybody wanna pray with me
Anybody wanna, anybody wanna pray with me
(and chase all these dark clouds away)
I understand just why you'd throw in the towel
Where there's no hope life is not worth the while
Why would you chose to live without me
What else do you want when I am all that you need
Searching high and searching low everyday
To find the peace of mind and someone to care
When all you have to do is fall on your knees
Take a look at yourself, I'm all that you need
Anybody wanna pray with me, anybody wanna pray with me
Anybody wanna, anybody wanna pray with me
(and chase all these troubles away)
Anybody wanna pray with me, anybody wanna pray with me
Anybody wanna, anybody wanna pray with me
(and chase all these dark clouds away
And now it's time to shout
Shout the victory (We Win!)
If you haven't read the book, come and go with me
(there comes a time)
There comes a time when all jokes aside (stop playin)
You make up your mind, you make up your mind
On bended knees these petitions get heard
From the throne room to packed arenas you've heard
Known for that, must commence to
Rock it fat, crowd react
Believe I'll pray for that
Yo' I keep my stance on the rock like this
So if two, three or mo decide to lock wrist
You better come strong, faith long in this
Cause wi' grits and Cece you know God in the midst
Anybody wanna pray with me, anybody wanna pray with me
Anybody wanna, anybody wanna pray with me
(and chase all these troubles away)
Anybody wanna pray with me, anybody wanna pray with me
Anybody wanna, anybody wanna pray with me
(and chase all these dark clouds away

I can't find the lyrics to this one, but this is one of my favorites. I love these guys.

The wife and I went to a festival to see Michael English. They had a HUGE vocal group performing there. They did this song and got the audience singing along. There were over 100 vocalists on stage along with a band. It was LOUD! It was GREAT.

Sounds awesome! I wish I could've been there!

Michael English came out and sang some old gospel tunes (I'm Going to Take a Trip on a Gospel Ship, etc.) with this backup. Truly awesome. It comes to Houston every year. I'll post when it's coming up.
