View Full Version : Sunday Night Football Theme
Okay, for the 'tragically un-hip', I have a question. Who is that 'performing' (lip sync) the song for Sunday Night Football? The opening of that song sounds a lot like an old "Joan Jett and the Blackhearts" tune ( http://www.joanjett.com/Lyrics/lyrics/DYWTM.htm). I just don't recognize that song or who's performing it.

Doesn't Waylon Jennings sing ready for some football........That was Monday Night I don't know if they use the same one or not!

Okay, now I know what it is. It's a remake of the Joan Jett song, "I hate myself for loving you." It's re-titled, "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night."

No, Waylon did the Dukes of Hazzard theme. Hank Williams, Jr. does the Monday Night Football theme, "Are You Ready For Some Football?"

So, what did you think of Vince Young's homecoming? I watched the whole game. I loved it. I know the Texans are kicking themselves. They've never really drafted well, even from the beginning. I remember their first pick in the expansion draft was Tony Boselli, an offensive lineman who was always hurt. I don't think he even played one game for them.

The blogs on the Chronicle (and elsewhere) are full of a lot of "I told you so" posts. People have been screaming since draft day that the Texans should have taken Young. The first pick in the Texans draft was David Carr. And he's being seriously out-played by a rookie QB (Young) who wanted to be drafted by the Texans and actually played HS football in Houston. I think the fans (what's left of them) are kicking the Texans management plenty now. Carr is a bust (as has been evident for quite some time). He (as the starting QB) wasn't even elected as a team captain by his own team mates for crying out loud. Not a good sign of leadership if you ask me.
And I think Boselli was picked up in free agency. I don't think he played one down during a regular season game. Big salary cap hit with zero productivity. The Texans are full of draft choices like that. Heck, their #1 pick in this years draft (Mario Williams) is being out played by the guy they picked up in the second round. Williams is a sound player mind you, but he was not worthy of a #1 pick. I think my dachshaund could make better draft picks to be honest with you.
If the Texans don't draft a great QB next season (and there aren't any like Yound out there now) they'll be playing in front of a lot of fans disguised as empty seats.

FIgured it was a Joan Jett song. The intro is real similar to the "Do You Want To Touch Me" track which has been used in other commercials. Good slide bit though so I can see why Joanie used it again.
