Here we go, lets start using this thread for MNF. It may make things a little easier than starting a new one everyweek. Does anyone have a score for tonight? Bears/Arizona? All I know is it should be a rout. 42 to 6. Da Bears. Although I admit I have not watched much at all of the Cards this year, but they usually suck every year.

I say, 34-7 Bears.

What a game! I was pissed off for about three quarters. I don't know how many times I turned the game off, then turned it on again. Grossman was horrible. The defense was letting Leinart do whatever he wanted. What really got me was when they had Leinart "Miked up", and him saying, "Yeah, Let's dominate their asses!" I just wanted to throw my bottle at the TV.
Then things changed. The Bears forced two fumbles for touchdowns and ran a punt return for a touchdown. And that was it! We were down 23-3 at the half, and came back and won 24-23. Urlacher had 19 tackles and a forced fumble. I think we are a team of destiny. I loved seeing Denny Greene blow up like that. He still hates the Bears from his days with the Vikings.
Da Bears!

I think I'm done trying to predict scores, at first that looked like it was going to go totally the other way on the score that we predicted.
Question: Are the Bears more average than we think per their light schedule or are the Cards the best 1-5 team going? I felt sorry for those guys glad I'm no card fan.

I think they underestimated their opponent (as did I), I think they got cocky, and I think the Cardinals were pissed off that the Bears were getting so much hype. The Bears had a players only meeting during the half, and the defense really stepped up in the second half. Grossman was horrible though. He was making terrible throws, and he wasn't protecting the ball. He can't do that. He has to make better than he did yesterday. Matt Leinart is going to be a good one. He's got alot of poise for a rookie.
Personally, I don't like it when the Bears get all this hype, because then they become a target. I'd like it much better if they weren't getting all this attention. But, when you play in a big city, like Chicago, you're going to get alot of hype if you're winning.

They could have had a bad night, but I don't think they are the terror that I once thought.

That's what I want everybody to think. I want everybody to ignore the Bears. Let all the other teams get the hype. I just want them to keep winning.

You would know more than me on this, what do you think? Are they just a decent team with a real weak schedule or are they as awesome as everyone has been saying? Its tough to judge on a single game, but last night they looked anything but awesome, more lucky than anything, with a great D and great special teams. Atleast great D in the second half, D didn't look so great the first half.

I just know that that's the worst performance that I've ever seen from Grossman, and it had nothing to do with other team. Normally, his throws are right on, but last night, he was way off. He looked like a different person out there. He looked like Chad Hutchinson. If he continues like that, I say throw in Brian Griese.

Sounds like your describing Drew Bledsoe, awesome and dead on sometime, way off at other times, typically when he's pressured. I'm glad we're not the only team with an inconsistent QB, I guess thats the rule and not that the exception in the NFL, just like the Bengals guy, Big Ben, and quite a few others.

The Bears are a VERY average offensive team with a good defense.
They've played a pretty weak schedule and will continue to do so all year long in that poor division they play in.
Their defense isn't as good as some think... while their offense was pretty muc exposed last night.
The same thing went for the Ravens last monday night when the Broncos exposed them as completely overrated and then they went out and lost this past weekend as well.
The only reason the Bears won last night was because Arizona gave it away and that's a sign of a young team that's still making mistakes.
Although the Bears will obviously probably make the playoffs... once they meet better competition their year should come to a very abrupt end unless they fix some holes they have on the offensive side mainly.

That's why it's so important that a team has a great running game, and a great run-defense. Those are the two main ingredients for Superbowl contenders. Every Superbowl Champion has had those two things. Quarterbacks are important, but you don't always need one that'll throw for 300 yards a game. As long as you have one that doesn't screw up consistently and can manage the game. The 2000 Ravens are a great example of that, as well as the '85 Bears.

Actually I shouldn't say "we" when referring to the cowboys. I don't own the team nor am I a player or an employee, I'm only a fan. I've always hated, well that's a strong word but you know what I mean, peeps that say "we" did this and we did that when referring to their favorite teams. I always say hey dude whose "we" what the %$#@ do you have to do with it. You're just some loser that likes the Toronto BlueJays, or whoever.

As to your other post, Its always been my personal opinion that the O line and D line are probably the most important. Its a true team sport so really all positions are important, but with a great O line, they can form holes to where practically any loser can run through it. If a good line can mow down everyone up front causing 20 years of daylight, anyone can run through uncontested ground.

Well, having an great offensive line will enable a team to a have a great running game. So, that goes hand in hand. Just like a great defensive line will stop the run. Look at those great Cowboys teams of the 90's. They had one of, if not the best, offensive lines in history. That enabled somebody like Emmitt Smith to just dominate like he did. Although he would've done well on any other team, that line really put him over the top.

I think alot of die hard fans have a tendancy to do that. I do that from time to time. Just like yesterday when I called my dad and said, "Hey, did you hear we hired Lou Piniella?". Like I'm a shortstop on the Cubs or something.

Yeah that's what I'm saying I have a tendency to do it too, but I have to stop myself sometimes from doing it cause its kinda dumb if you think about it, but no harm no foul, practically everyone I know does it with their particular team. "Hey what do you think WE'RE going to do with TO?"

Are you a big Hogs fan? I tried to root for them when I lived there, but they just totally sucked. I had a buddy who was a big Hogs fan. I think he actually did think he was a Hog, that's how ate up about it he was. I went to a couple of their games with him, when Matt Jones was there.

Not really at all, I do watch most of the games when they're on, unless they are TOTALLY sucking the particular year, just 'cause I'm a football fan in general. I never go to the games or buy and wear the shirts, hog masks, etc. Its hard for me to be a "die hard" fan with a team that is so 2nd tier, just because I live in the State. Just like if I lived in Mississippi I don't think I would be an Ole Miss fan. The Hogs are so 2nd tier in a way, with a few years of being "a little better." But they'll never have the recruiting base or be as much of a contender as say Florida, Alabama, USC, teams like that. Plus I just have a problem with getting real excited about college sports in general. They're amatuers and its just not something I'm really in to. But I do watch some college ball, mainly the SEC games. The SEC is where its at for college ball in my opinion.
I would say I'm more of an SEC fan than a Hogs fan, and they are doing pretty good this year. They are 6-1 and have beaten Alabama, Auburn, and Vandy, seems like I'm missing another SEC team, but oh well, like I said I'm not a huge fan.
