WHOEVER WROTE THIS SHOULD STEP FORWARD AND CLAIM IT!
THE WORDS ARE POWERFUL:
TWO THOUSAND ONE, NINE ELEVEN (2001-911)
Two thousand one, nine eleven
Three thousand plus arrive in heaven
As they pass through the gate,
Thousands more appear in wait
A bearded man with stovepipe hat
Steps forward saying, "Lets sit, lets chat"
They settle down in seats of clouds
A man named Martin shouts out proud
"I have a dream!" and once he did
The Newcomer said, "Your dream still lives."
Groups of soldiers in blue and gray
Others in khaki, and green then say
"We're from Bull Run, Yorktown, the Maine"
The Newcomer said, "You died not in vain."
From a man on sticks one could hear
"The only thing we have to fear.
The Newcomer said, "We know the rest,
trust us sir, we've passed that test."
"Courage doesn't hide in caves
You can't bury freedom, in a grave,"
The Newcomers had heard this voice before
A distinct Yankees twang from Hyannisport shores
A silence fell within the mist
Somehow the Newcomer knew that this
Meant time had come for her to say
What was in the hearts of the five thousand plus that day
"Back on Earth, we wrote reports,
Watched our children play in sports
Worked our gardens, sang our songs
Went to church and clipped coupons
We smiled, we laughed, we cried, we fought
Unlike you, great we're not"
The tall man in the stovepipe hat
Stood and said, "Don't talk like that!
Look at your country, look and see
You died for freedom, just like me"
Then, before them all appeared a scene
Of rubbled streets and twisted beams
Death, destruction, smoke and dust
And people working just 'cause they must
Hauling ash, lifting stones,
Knee deep in hell, but not alone
"Look! Blackman, Whiteman, Brownman, Yellowman
Side by side helping their fellow man!"
So said Martin, as he watched the scene
"Even from nightmares, can be born a dream."
Down below three firemen raised
The colors high into ashen haze
The soldiers above had seen it before
On Iwo Jima back in '45
The man on sticks studied everything closely
Then shared his perceptions on what he saw mostly
"I see pain, I see tears,
I see sorrow -- but I don't see fear."
"You left behind husbands and wives
Daughters and sons and so many lives
are suffering now because of this wrong
But look very closely. You're not really gone.
All of those people, even those who've never met you
All of their lives, they'll never forget you
Don't you see what has happened?
Don't you see what you've done?
You've brought them together, together as one.
With that the man in the stovepipe hat said
"Take my hand," and from there he led
three thousand plus heroes, Newcomers to heaven
On this day, two thousand one, nine eleven

Where were you when 9/11 kicked off? I was living Japan. I didn't even know about it until I woke up and turned on the news because we were 14 hours ahead. 10 days later they sent me to Qatar. Boy, did that suck. There was nothing there but desert.
Good question.
I was at work, the tv was on and someone said "a plane just hit the World Trade Center"! Its a moment like that you never forget.
So there we watched, about 4 or 5 of us together ..........................

I just finished a grave yard shift as night auditor for the Holiday Inn and was about to head to my day job when one of the morning shift front desk clerks came in and said a plane hit a building in New York. I didn't realize the magnitude until I got to work and we were all told to go home. My buddy and I went back to my place and watched everything unfold on TV. I don't think there's a person in America that doesn't remember exactly what they were doing when it happened. Has anyone seen World Trade Center or United Flight 93?

I was in my car driving to a furniture store when the first one hit, and inside the store when the second one hit.

The poem was nice but not real. I doubt even 10% of the victims went to Heaven. Sad but true. Heaven is only for God's children and most victims were not children of God (Christians/Jews). Many were atheists, muslims, and other non-believers. I cannot find one account of a born-again Christian being a victim of 911.

It is too bad those people on fire jumping off the buildings did not go to heaven.......

Yeah, if 9/11 would've happened down south, especially here in God's country, it would've been a different story.

How can you even think such a thing if they weren't Christians why do you even care that it happened? IMO they were God Fearing people and until I know different then that is how I am going to feel about this....I don't 8understand why you are having this opinion now after all these years and never said anything before....

I must have missed Jesus posting here, saying who went to heaven and who didn't.

It was a joke.
New York isn't exactly known for being a place that's on fire for Christianity, but in most towns in the South, there's a church on every corner. Especially here in West Texas.
You don't know if they were God fearing or not. You don't know who was saved, and who wasn't. Who's to say?

Well our little town of 1500 people has 10 Churches...you never know those people were probably commuters and IMO it was not very funny at all....I don't joke about God. He is the only one who will decide who gains entrance into Heaven.......

Only God knows. We don't. Being a Christian is a choice. You choose God/Jesus/Holy Spirit or you choose satan. There is no in-between. I wasn't trying to be some hard-@ss here. But sometimes the truth hurts. I have a friend who just died. I tried to get her saved for years. She rejected Him. She's probably in hell now. It's very sad but she made her choice.:(

It is a relief for me to know that God is in charge of heaven because so many here on earth want to to decide who goes to heaven but Jesus says "Love your enemies, bless them who curse you, ........that we are to be perfect as your Father who is in Heaven is perfect....." Matthew 5-45 and Matthew 5-48..... if God wants us to forgive our enemies and be perfect like Him..... then perhaps He forgives His enemies (those who do not believe in Him). I for one will not judge or try to say who goes to Heaven. It is not my job..... not my responsiblity...it is God's.

Yes, but.....
The Bible says we are to be fishers of men. It's OUR job to go out and get people saved/to church. It IS our job to help the lost get back to Him. If we don't, we are disobeying Him.

Jesus wants people to learn to love others and have compassion for others. That is what He taught His disciples.

That right K but sometimes it's like talking to a stone wall.....I still and always will live my life as Jesus would want us to...

Yes, we are to love and have compassion for others. We are also to enforce our laws.
