I seriously thought if I came in this thread and gave Simon as an answer, I would be setting myself up for one of the following criticisms:
1. You're just saying that to be different.
or 2. You must be a jerk.
...but seriously, he is, for the reason you state. What would this show be without him? Not much. He brings the conflict to the table that viewers like to see, whether they admit it or not.

I'd have to go with Randy. Simon is just too mean/rude/brutally honest, and Paula gives good looking guys the benefit of the doubt so she can bed them later. So, my vote goes to Randy.

The fact that he's frank, straight to the point and no bull-shit...
People just have to learn to take criticism...
The best is definitely Simon. I think without him there would be no quarelling and everything would be too 'nice'. Hence crap to watch. he makes it interesting and his smart remarks make interesting viewing.

:heartpump Simon is my favorite judge also.Randy is also good.But Paula is too wishy washy for me.She almost seems to studer when she is talking.And she repeats herself a lot.She stinks as a judge.When she is flirting with Simon I want to throw up.Then she lip locks him which is even worse.Hey we have kids watching this show.What do you think?

I think Simon Cowell knows what he is talking about. He has been in the music business for many years and I agree with a lot of the things he says. I dont like it when he puts people down.

If I can be honest here--
Simon of course! He's the only 1 that IS honest & totally up front. And these kids NEED that, because in the business their headed in, they'll have a LOT of criticism to deal with, both good AND bad. So they best get used to it!

I agree completely. Has anyone seen the show "Nashville Star"? Man, they need someone like Simon on that show. I watch it because I generally prefer upcoming stars to the big names, so I like to keep up on music newcomers. But that show is terrible. :smilies3: A b-rated version of American Idol - country style.

I like them all, I think they are all good at what they do. But I guess if I had to pick it would be Paula, I definitely woudn't be as interested in the show if she weren't on there. I do like Simon because he is honest, but for the most part, he doesn't have to be such a prick. I mean he is funny to watch and stuff, but there are times when it would definitely get on my nerves. I feel sorry for Paula and Randy sometimes, especially when he gets in his moods.
I do like Randy too, I love how he is so cool and laid back. He seems like he would be really awesome to meet.

I used to like Simon, but his taste in music so fruity. He only likes that boring pop music that you hear on those lite-rock stations. If somebody sings something Country or anything funky, he doesn't like it. Randy is the only one who I usually agree with. Paula reminds me of my grandmother who used to clap at everything us grandchildren ever did. Kinda like a seal.

I've been watching this since Season 3 and, to be honest, the show wouldn't be a show without Simon. Actually, the three make for a good combination because Randy's Mr. Pitchy/Dawg and all that... it's all vague sometimes. Paula's 99% gushing about the contestants and always being goo-goo about guys, especially Ace...
Simon, whom I used to despise, is on the button, straight to the point, and honest. His delivery might always be anti politically correct, but at least he's honest. His analysis of the current AI 5 contestants' performances are (usually) dead on accurate. This is always an opinion thing so you're all entitled to yours and this is mine. :lsvader:

simon is my favorite because he is real. he doesnt beat around the bush, he tells the contestants the truth. if they sucked, he will tell them.

i agree with you on the paula part. she seems like she is high or drunk all the time lately. simon can be obnoxious but he tells the cold hard truth. randy is "aight".

I like that Paula always gives them a positive because they need to know what it is that they are doing right and she always points it out to them. I like Simon because he always tells the cold hard truth and they need to know what they are doing wrong and what to change, and what most people wouldnt have liked about their performance. Randy never seems very sure about what he is talking about he always says it was "aight". Its like he doesnt know that he'll just guess and do the best he can and tell them that they did ok. He tries to be like Simon withour being noticable. Dog Pound!

I like simon.. he is just sooo honest and thats what ya gotta love about him!!!
He knows talent wen he seen it, which is great cos he know what will sell and what wont!!
