@OfficialMelB tweeted a link to where she says the judges, MelB, Natalie Bassingthwaite, Ronan Keating and Guy Sebastian will be meeting with Simon Cowell, presumably this week.

HERE is vid. of Guy singing "Who's That Girl" for fun, during a rest break in auditions

YouTube - ‪Guy Sebastian ~ (impromptu version) Who's That Girl 3.6.2011‬‏

Boot camp is being held, we think this week, as Guy is in Australia for just a little longer before returning to LA. He just finished a quick tour for Acer Aspire

Looks interesting this year for the show, a group got through to boot camp AGAIN. Here's hoping they can hold it together for the show. Guy gave them a standing ovation at the audition. (and for more on the Acer tour, will be on Guy's area in Aust. Idol)

From what I hear a few groups from last year got back into Boot Camp - but I'm under the impression that Guy hasn't go the Groups again.

He has been pretty close to Wynter Gordon just lately, posting a photo and these twitters from them both have appeared.

Guy was in New York yesterday for an interview, and then hung out with @Fredro (fab. songwriter, written quite a few with Guy too) and they were hoping to catch up with Wynter but I somehow think that didnt happen.

However TODAY (ie Friday in LA) the whole four judges caught up and lunched and discussed various aspects with Simon Cowell. Can't wait to see all this on TV

Guy has been giving hints that his special artist guest is REALLY huge. Now, as he had Snoop Dog and Usher last year................... just HOW big can this get?

:P

There are undercurrents from tweets etc that Ronan may have Groups this year, while there seems a possibility that Guy may have the girls. But this is all total conjecture and probably wrong. Guy has said he has the 'at home' in LA within the last couple of days and that's when they get to meet the massive star which will stun them - cant wait.

Ahhh so its Nick? Delta's amazingly beautiful, I don't think he'd have any worries about dating her. She's tall and looks good enough to be a top model but she's such a musical talent too.

Love this photo :haha:

MELB created a bit of controversy, in an interview, which is good. They need a little spice (ha ha) Guy has been copping a bit of Twitter attention etc because of his outfits. I love the man, love he's never boring but................ sometimes his outfits are "What the hell?????" The episode just gone was one of those. when his red beanie was more peaked and reminded me of Gnomeo! To say nothing of the rest of the outfit. As someone said, perhaps he wears them just to create some fun and controversy.

Here's some fab. photos from the 1st episode

The judges performed at the opening of the first Live Show
The Judges Perform - X Factor Australia 2011 Live Shows 1 - YouTube

You’ll find links on that channel to almost all performances etc for Australia’s 2011 XFactor, to date.

My favorites at present are Reece Mastin and Declan Sykes. And not just because they belong to Guy's group. But so many are really classy and fabulous, and I personally love the production so far. I’m currently catching up on the backlog, as I was overseas during its first 3 weeks.

From Australia's got Talent, we got Jack Vidgen, who is outstanding, a real star. And only around 16 years old. NOW we have Reece Mastin and Declan Sykes, 16 and 15 respectively. Reece is rocky and totally awesome, while Declan is sort of blond Harry Potter / mad scientist with such a mature unusual voice, reminds me somewhat of David Bowie in some ways. Both their performances from the 1st Live Show were stunning.

Ronan Keating is, as he did last year, staging some awesome show stoppers. MelB is perfect as a judge, funny, somewhat biting at times, but never boring. Natalie is finding her feet, but shows real promise, she's worked as front man for Rogue Traders plus done stage and TV work AND has a very lovely voice.

The show this year is a whole step up, while not denying Altiyan Childs, winner of last years show, as an amazing talent.

looking like the year of the teens, this year. Guy's Reece and Declan, and even Johnny, together with MelB's Christina, are the front runner. They are very very awesome indeed, especially Reece and Christina.

Declan is just so unusual and different, that for someone aged only 15 he's a show stopper. And he's fun too. Johnny Ruffo is a bit like Brad Pitt, but a singer /dancer.

The judges are doing a good job this year, great mentoring. Guy felt the need to pull Mitchell into gear after praising him singing 'the best he's sung in the competition so far' - apparently his behind the scenes behaviour towards the crew and staff is far from professional *insert rolling eyes here* and he wasn't taking notice of any request to stop it.. So Guy mentioned the unprofessionalness of not behaving well towards crew.

So the fans of others got on board and called it bullying, and not mentoring. *more rolling eyes" We KNOW Guy, he would have pulled the fella into gear way before he brought it out to the public - apparently the fella was not taking any notice of the requests to stop it. Twitter went off with it, and media was given some sop story they could run with - but it was not just that story, really. His behaviour was atrocious and mean - and phobic. Here's hoping Mitch has stopped.

Front runners are the kids, Reece Declan and Christina, and they're turning in fabulous performances. Can't wait for tomorrow night.

Tomorrow night is close, can't wait to see what we get. Declan Sykes and Reece Mastin are fab. in Guy's group, but also there's CHristina Parie or Parie and Andrew Wishart are definite contenders. Three Wishez is the last group to be in, very sad to see Young Men's Society leave last week, they were so much fun. There's talk that Guy may use them for his Australian tour next year, although I'm not sure when that will be.

I'm surethe last 3 standing woiuld be Reece, Christina and Andrew

wow last weeks elimination when Christina Parie went, was heartbreaking. Honestly, so many talented people... although I personally think the gorgeous Johnny should not be there, deffo not on the same level.

I've bought the iTunes tracks and incredibly, Andrew is fabulous, Declan is wonderful, Reece is amazing, 3 Wishez is good fun and special. I would buy albums from all four of those, in a beat.

I loved this tweet from Sally Chatfield runner up from last year

I'm glad a million people are here to help fill me in on x factor, but I only watch it for @reecemastin really, and @GuySebastian <3
31 Oct

Christina, who went, has on her FB interview that Guy was her fave judge after her own mentor, MelB. Guy had apparently been of great help to her throughout, and particularly through the bum times (quoting). Guy's wife Jules is the NICEST person too, so I'm guessing she would have been a lovely one for Christina to be around.

everyone seemed to recover themselves this week, MelB is a very revealing gown on the 1st night!! Sheer, with stars... hee hee

Final three are Andrew, Reece and Johnny who somewhat redeemed himself with very good performances. Vocally, I dont think he's anywhere near Andrew, Reece or Declan but he does put on a performance and apparently is a great fella.

Kylie will be on, this coming week.

We had the guy who sang The A Team, and Steve Nicks, this week. The show's been great! I'll be back sometime to put up a few links, but meantime, anyone having a look at youtube, keep to hiptoeknee channel and you'd have most of it.

I'll be back on this later, but MASSIVE crowds.

15,000 and 3 hour traffic jams in Perth for Johnny and Guy. We have to remember, its really Johnny, Guy AND Xfactor - 3 hot things!

I've seen a photo of massive crowd in Adelaide today. :P

was great entertainment last night, I really liked The Fray's song from last night, although I wasn't really into the one so much on Monday. (Loved Andrew's solo songs more)

Emmanuel Kelly was brought back to sing his Imagine as an intro again. I was aware that he had been doing a few gigs, quietly. :)

Reece's song has hit #1 on iTunes in a mega way, soaring over everything - including Guy's "Don't Worry Be Happy" which DID get to #1 on the odd occasion :haha: - it IS Reece's turn to shine though.

Kylie was magnificent, sang beautifully, looked a million dollars. And I loved Guy's performance, twitter went complely over the top after his song.

no matter what the *rolls eyes* say, its been a fantastic year for XFactor - the ratings have really shown that. And the net media

but finally I'm back here

REECE MASTIN was crowned the winner,

HE'S captivated more than two million Australians, is selling a music single every 2.7 seconds, made headlines in the UK and chalked up his 17th birthday
Greenwith teen Reece Mastin is now holed up in a Melbourne studio, busily recording his self-titled debut album to hit stores on December 9 - in time to cash in on Christmas sales.

He will play his first Adelaide concert on January 28 at the Thebarton Theatre.

It's a dizzying schedule for The X Factor winner, especially considering four months ago he was just a cheeky 16-year-old knocking about at Golden Grove High School.

"It's a long process but a very very fun one," Mastin said yesterday of his time in the recording studio.

"I am very proud of this record - the recordings are coming up great."

On Wednesday, the day after his success screened live on Channel 7 - and was watched by an average of two million - Mastin's debut single Good Night managed to sell every 2.7 seconds for the entire day.

As of late yesterday, it still sat atop the Australian iTunes singles chart.

Mastin's newly installed manager, David Champion, said he was "stunned and thrilled" about the teen's instant record sales success but insisted the 17-year-old had the gumption to go the distance.

"He is an amazing singer, a sensational performer and songwriter. He really has the real and very rare `X Factor'," Champion told The Advertiser.

Particularly bizarre for the boy whose family emigrated from the UK six years ago is the legions of female fans he has amassed. It's a number so steep he caused a 5000-strong teen frenzy when visiting an Adelaide shopping centre last week, with excited girls fainting in the crowd.

"It's insane but I'm not saying I don't like it," Mastin said.

What's also "insane" and "awesome" in Mastin's book are the headlines he has made in his home town of S****horpe and right across the UK.

He has been invited to play at music venue the Baths Hall in S****horpe, which has hosted such acts as The Who, The Kinks, The Pogues and Faith No More.

"The entire town is still buzzing with excitement following Reece's success on Australian X-Factor," the Baths Hall general manager Dan Harris told The Advertiser.

Although he has plenty on his plate now, Mastin hasn't ruled out the possibility.

"As (soon as) my Australian tour is done, I would love to do some UK dates - my Nan would be so happy," he said yesterday.

By coincidence, Mastin's X Factor mentor Guy Sebastian (who won another reality singing contest, Australian Idol, in 2003) is from the same area of Adelaide and even used to teach at his old school.

As far as Mastin is concerned, there's a formula to follow to guarantee career longevity.

"I think it (longevity) is just hard work - I've got to put everything into it," he said.

Tickets for Mastin's January 28 Thebarton Theatre concert are on sale now through Venuetix.

There's a link on that one to his duet with Kylie

His song, "Good Night" was written by Hayley Warner, a former near winner in Australian Idol. While it's been called a "Raise Your Glass" its obviously not near enough for Sony, who have rights in both, to be concerned. (And in fact, wasn't THAT song queried regarding being so close to another singers?)

Reece's statistics in digital sales have been phenomenal, I'm finding the enthusiasm is rather similar to when Guy won, way back in 2003! Awesome.

So the song has been sitting as #1 on iTunes, having beaten down Guy's "Don't Worry Be Happy" to #2.

Reece's "Good Night" is selling so well, holding of LFMAO who have turned in to be massive sellers here in Australia. Well done to him.
It should be at LEAST 2P by now

Guy's "Don't Worry Be Happy" is actually doing well too, for this time of the year. Currently hanging in at #4 in its 4th week, and thats awesome! I'm sure its Platinum by now, having done my sums, though whether Sony will release that news just yet..? (they often don't release the sales awards at the right times, have no idea why.)

Reece is touring, with Johnny Ruffo as support act. Unfortunately we won't get to see Reece, which is a real disappointment. Our entertainment budget has been blown as I'm lining up to see Ronan Keating at end of January.

(We've had a great opportunity to travel again, and its really inconvenient purse-wise but on the other hand an opportunity not to be missed - so we're not.)
