View Full Version : Can someone back me up here?!?!?

It's is still a two horse race but Katherine did herself no favors by completely botching Phil Collins' "Against All Odds" and then crawling around stage during her second song pretending to be one of those homeless people with no legs who wheel themselves around town on little carts. And anyone worried that "Kat" (as her adoring fans like to call her) was getting a little thin can put those concerns aside. If she gets any bigger she can play Kristie Alley's sister on "Fat Actress" after she gets voted off.
Dude, you are nuts! Kat has a beautiful body! She'd look sick if she lost too much weight... I'm far from fat, but I am a proud white girl with a nice ghetto booty, and I get compliments on it all the time. I'm glad to see her not conforming with all of Hollywood by trying to make herself fit into a size 2. She's a great role model for young girls. She's HOT! She's SMOKIN'! Really, just ask my husband! ;)
Is there anyone who doesn't think Taylor has become a parody of himself? The rolling around on stage is something you might expect to see in comedy sketch---and a not very good one at that. He'll survive, only because the night was full of so many uneven performances, but I am no longer sure he will outlast Elliott. There's just so many times that you can come across as a drunken karaoke singer before America will declare "enough is enough".
Admittedly, I have never been much of a Taylor fan, but he won me over last night! Isn't the point of music to have fun and express yourself??? I know that when I sing, I get into my music. He had me grinning from ear-to-ear last night! It makes me happy to see him put so much feeling into his performances. And his second song just proved something to me: THE MAN CAN SING!!! Keep on playin' that funky music, White Boy!!! :luxhello:

I was talking about Kat's body, not yours. She starting to pack on the pounds. Not exactly Kelly Clarkson territory but getting there. Don't forget, you can never be too rich or too thin.

If you consider "expressing yourself" to be writhering around on the floor as if you were a cockroach who had just taken a direct shot from a can of "RAID" then I guess Taylor is your man.
Too bad you're not still single. Suddenly spastics everywhere had hope of making it with a pretty girl.

I didn't notice any extra pounds... If I were her height, I'd want to be her size. I think she's a beautiful lady. In all aspects.
There are many ways to express yourself in music... Taylor was having fun with his song, and I happened to enjoy it.

No, you really can't handle it when someone disagrees----hence your title, "can someone back me up here"---and the fact that you placed the exact same post in two different threads.
But if you wish me to respect the fact that you like spastic male singers and full bodied girl singers who appear to be packing on the pounds---no problem. To each their own.

I put that title because I know that there are other people on this forum who feel the same. Also, you must have a catchy title to get people's attention. I removed one of the threads, and I apologized. What else would you like me to do?

But isn't it confrontational to accuse someone of being confrontational?
[Visualizing MusicLover smashing her fist on the keyboard and uttering something about Falsie being a bastard right about now.]
As far as 'backing people up' I'll throw a little out there for both of the warring factions here:
1: Kat: I haven't noticed any 'extra pounds' lately. Still think she's an attractive lady. She's bigger than the 'dear departed' Pickle, but a lot taller as well (though not as tall as Ayla).
2: Taylor reminds me of the routine that John Bellushi used to do when he spoofed Joe Cocker. If he were to leave I wouldn't miss him. I heard he did an okay job of singing "Something" last night, but I missed it (the show had bored me enough by then). Absent that, I've yet to see him just stand there and actually sing a song. Only time he's been entertaining (to me) is when he's hopping around like a flea on a hot griddle.

He sounded really good last night. He showed off his vocal range, and for the first time, I actually believe the guy can sing. :)
Well, like I said elsewhere, I didn't see his "Something" rendition last night. I had something more interesting to do at that point (like listening to some paint dry). Show was so boring I gave up by the time he did that one.

LOL, what's funny, is I Tivo'd the show (was playing softball during the live 'cast), so I watched it pretty late last night. As soon as it was over, I flipped the channel to Letterman. They were right at the end of a skit called "Did that just happen?".

That's what women always say when they start packing them on. I can just see McPhee in a stress induced, BigMac-Chocolate-Ice Cream-Pizza 24-7 feeding frenzy Thursday through Sunday, and then getting pissed as hell when she goes for her Monday wardrobe fitting and realizes she's gone up another 1/2 size.
If she wins this thing within three years she'll be bigger than Aretha Franklin.

Taylor didn't just do an okay job, even Simon thought he did a fine job with his Beetles song, and said he can really sing when he's not performing one of his antics. So you remember John Belushi huh? John did a good performance in the Blues Brothers. What you hate about Taylor's performance is what impresses others. He's the reason I watch AI, the show is no fun without him. I got on the floor and moved to the beat, only I didn't get down on the floor. See I'm a bit older than Taylor. Singer/performers like Taylor fill stadiums because people pay to see and have fun.
RushDog
05-03-2006, 12:56 PM
Yes why do you hate his performance so much? To me he's normal because I am that drunk guy at the wedding who Simon keeps comparing him to. Soul Patrol!

Yep, remember the first episodes of SNL and the whole "Landshark" routines. Even the "Samurai Night Fever" skit John did.
If you like Taylor, great. To each their own. Me? If he were doing a free concert in the parking lot here I'm not sure I'd turn around and watch him out the window. But that's my opinion.

Perhaps he did make us that way. Except that free will thingie gets in the way. I'm sure God isn't the one who forces Kat to hide that twinkie under her pillow and to grab for a hot fudge Sunday when some frozen Yogurt will do.
