Did you vote? if so whick one did you vote for?

and I'm still voting for Elliott (it's not quite 11:00 on the west coast). I think he's the most versatile contestant of the group and he was the best tonight. Chris was second, Katharine third and a tie for the worst between Taylor and Paris. I think Paris is going home tomorrow.

I usually don't. I think all of the remaining contestants are very talented, and I believe all of them, if they so choose, will have successful music careers. Each of them is stronger than the other contestants in certain areas, and I think we have the best top 5 finalists ever on the show.

I don't necessarily think Elliott is the best overall performer remaining, but I'd like to see him win it all. I've said this over and over here, but he is most in need of the win, IMO. He would probably have the hardest time securing another record deal outside of AI if he doesn't win. Not that he doesn't deserve one, I just question how many producers are willing to take a risk with him (from a marketing standpoint).

So that's why I don't vote. If I voted for who I thought were the best performers last night, I would have voted for Taylor and Katharine. If I voted for my favorite, just because he's my favorite, I would have voted for Chris. But if I voted based on my views on Elliott, I would have voted for Elliott. So I simply choose not to vote and I just watch and enjoy! I should point out that I actually enjoyed Paris' Prince song too. Though she's grown on me some, she's my least favorite. I'm sure she'll be going home tonight.

I voted for Chris (my fave), Taylor (the first song was so entertaining, and the second really showed that the dude can SING!), and Kat (Because she's probably technically the best).

I tried to vote for Taylor the whole 2 hours, but all I got were busy signals the whole 2 hours on both #'s. He kicked last night.

I think you missed your calling as a diplomat or possible ambassador to the UN or other country. You are wayyyyyyyy too nice. But I know where you are coming from.

Voted a lot for Elliott, a little for Paris and Kat. I do think Paris is in trouble tonight though. Little or no 'fan base' to help her even though she has the most consistent vocals of the bunch. Poor song choices hurt her some to boot. Outside chance Kat could go home as her first song was BAD.

Chris's second song was BAD. He didn't sing, he screamed. And I'm a die-hard Chris fan. I turned the volume down when he got about halfway through his song. Whoever the vocal coach is that had him sing that song 5 times yesterday for practice should be shot. It ruined his voice.

Agree his vocals coach should be fired. Hopefully from a large cannon.

So maybe next week they'll let Chris sing "For Those About to Rock" by AC/DC. They could "FIRE" him out for the cannon shot then. How 'bout it?

Not to mention the kid just got one of the greatest coaching sessions he ever could have had last week with the opera singer and David Foster, teaching him how to sing correctly with his diaphragm, and the dumb @#$ went right back to singing incorrectly. If he was singing correctly with his diaphragm, he never would have given out after singing (oh no) a 2 minute version of his song (oh no) 5 whole times in one day. Oh my gosh what a slave driving show he's on. WHAT THE %$#@ is he going to do if he ever gets on a real tour and has to do 15-25 songs a night??????? EVERY night. It ain't gonna happen.

If he can do that and hold tune he'll take the title for sure....:bravo:

I'm only jealous that I didn't think of the idea of a call-in vote show, at whatever it is I don't know, even at 50 cents a call Fox made over 20 million last week in just phone calls!! That's a rediculous amount of money, when the ad sales are not even factored in yet.

The reason you didn't think of it is because American Idol didn't think of it either. The phone in votes are free.

I wasn't sure, I can't believe they aren't charging, it would undoubtedly cut out many calls but they would no doubt still receive millions of calls, equals mucho cash, that's weird, I thought most of the vote shows did charge, not sure what their logic is, as a producer I would go for the extra cash.

FalseIdol
05-03-2006, 03:48 PM
Actually, they should start charging and not tell anyone. And make sure they have enough phone lines to accomodate each and every call---no busy signals.

Then can you just imagine the expression on the Tinsong's face when she get's that first month's phone bill and realizes she spent $1,500 casting votes for some spastic white boy singer!!!

Priceless.

that's what makes AI so good... besides they don't have to charge for voting b/c they make it up charging $700,000 per 30 sec commercial for advertising.

To answer the original question in the thread, No, I don't vote. I think I voted once two years ago for Fantasia, but not since. Don't really have a reason why...
It's fascinating how the threads fray and become split ends. Henry Kissinger? He'as a crook - one of the original terrorists.

I am perfectly normal as opposed to 'some' people! Most people if they DO VOTE for the 2 hours (and I stopped and did other things in that 2 hours FYI!) they probably dial it that many times or more - they just don't count! Why? Why? Why? Because I can! That's why!

If attempting to vote 609 times is all Tinsong needs to relieve her pent up frustrations--- then by all means she should keep doing it.

Considering that the alternative might be for her to grab a 12-guage and take down her local McDonalds, I would definitely characterize the obsessive-compulsive behavior as the lesser of two evils.
