Well, I'm not going to call out anyone individually. However, I do feel that racism does play a part in how some people feel about the contestants. Some of people want an all white American Idol. Paris has performed well consistently on American Idol each week. I really haven't heard anyone say that she hasn't sang well. I just see people taking cheap shots about how she looks or the way she talks, or that they don't want to see her cry all the time. When Elliot was crying he was being "sensitive". When she's crying, she's being "immature". If she was a pretty little white girl, these things would not be an issue. The Gary Coleman comparisons are totally absurd. Personally, I think she's attractive. She doesn't look anything like Gary Coleman. That's how I feel, and I'm sticking with it.

Paris has actually impressed me quite a bit lately, shes pretty talented, but looks are playing into this thing, and she unfortunately ain't the prettiest chick that's been on idol. For the entire package on these things her looks are going to hurt her and has probably been the root of some of the criticism. If she looked like Vanessa Williams or Shakira, she would probably be doing a lot better. (I know its not supposed to be about looks, but it is playing a big part of it.) Pickles would not even have made it into the cut if it wasn't for the fact that she's a really hot blonde. On the AI extra on the Reality channel I was shocked to see Simon's initial reation to her in the begining where he said "I actually prefer you to last years winner"? Ughg?? what was that all about. Yeah I love her and she's hot as @#$% but she wasn't even close to Carrie U-Woods level of talent. Just goes to show you how big looks are playing into this thing.
