Okay, so the new Adam Lambert album cover is totally gay. Do you think this will help or hurt his CD sales? I think it will bite him in the ass (Pardon the pun).

I never thought of that when i saw it but some might think it's too over the top now that you mention it. It wouldn't bother me but some might be put off.

However, if the CD is awesome most wouldn't care. Has anyone heard it? Is it very good?? Someone I know went to see Cold Play before seeing the American Idol stars concert. After seeing Cold Play he said the American Idol singers seemed too amaturish and found the concert dull. I thought that was interesting. I wonder how Chris is making out with his CD? Ok, toodles all.

Teddy I think it is way over the top. Adam was never that way during Idol or any of the shows I you tubed him on. It will definitely hurt him IMO.

Yeah, and now that he's decided to swap spit with another dude on stage at the AMA's, I think that's definately a career killer. Hell, Freddie Mercury never did anything like that. I don't even think Boy George did anything like that. Madonna kissing Britney is one thing, but nobody wants to see a guy kissing another guy, except for maybe other gay men. :repuke:

I personally wish he wasn't so over the top in what I would call his post idol national debut performance. I heard that he was dropped from some national show after that. I don't think by any means it will be a career killer because the music is too good and people are going to listen to it even if they hate him personally.

I lucked into seeing him on the CBS early show today. I actually hit the wrong numbers on the remote :). Adam sang two songs that were both quite good. One I am pretty sure was called "What do you want from me" Which was his best post Idol song yet and the other might be called "Music again" and it was pretty cool but not quite as good.

Jon came home from school and the kids are not happy with his CD they said that Adam sold out...It's not edgy enough for them...I haven't heard any of his music but will be willing to give it a listen but the kids seem to think that it needs to be more like the stuff he sang on idol..

My daughter bought me the CD for Christmas. I understand how some would see it as a sell out because it is kind of techno dance pop rather than the promise of serious rock and roll we saw on Idol. Still it is all pretty good and some of it is very good. I am hoping we get some serious rock and roll from Adam in the future.

LOL pretty good Teddy. I am not embarrassed to like Adam's music, however the last CD I bought was when Loreena McKennitt made a new album after a nine year hiatus. I do want to hear Adams next album focus on Rock.

I was always surprised that he did so well on Idol. I like to think that when you're that good, even the homophobes will come around. Amazing talent.

I think Homophobes is a word that is thrown around far too loosely and can be a slur in its own right. I don't approve of Homosexuality but I am not afraid of homosexuals. I don't hold any animosity towards homosexuals. I am in no way a homophobe, but I think a lot of people use that word towards anybody who thinks there is anything wrong with homosexuals in any way. I never needed to come around to liking Adam Lambert I liked him from the very beginning.

He was not my favorite but i always liked his voice it's just that Danny was more my style and I am far from being a homophobe..I love my brother and want my son to get to know his uncle even better and he is gay...always has been always will be...I did talk to him about American Idol this past season and he didn't watch I was so disappointed...

"Homophobes" is probably a term not used enough, and it isn't a slur. Some of my best friends are homophobes, also sexists, racists, and several other things. My point was that I expect that Lambo was so good even some of the gay-bashers came around, at least enough to get him to second. That doesn't slur anyone (oops, I said "gay-bashers". Is that worse than "homophobes"? Anyway I doubt we'll see another flamer like Adam again, so the point is moot.

Calling somebody a homophobe is a label that has negative connotations so in that regard it is used as a slur. It is used way to much. It is supposed to be about people who fear homosexuals but many use it to disparage anyone who isn't a whole hearted homosexual supporter. However this will be my last comment about it in the Idol forum because it belongs in the politics and religion forum.

I know you are just being your normal sarcastic self Teddy but I am curious. Miss California in this ad is labeled as a homophobe and a gay basher. Has she ever exhibited a fear of homosexuals or bashed them?

EDIT: OK I really, really promise to move any further talk about this subject to politics and religion.

Yeah, I was just playing around. It just gave me an excuse to post her pic.

I don't think she's a homophobe. In fact, I agree with her, and respect her for standing up for her beliefs. I think she's very brave. If she was frightened by gays and lesbians, she probably would've just said what they wanted to hear.

I think the word 'homophobe' is just a defense mechanism used by gays, lesbians, and other liberals to try to censor others that are against that lifestyle. Liberals are all about censorship.

I've never met a gay person that I've been scared of. Gay people aren't scary. I think they're funny. I work with this one lesbian chick, who weighs 300 lbs, has a crew-cut, and dresses like a man. She looks like a grown up version of Larry Mondello. Everytime I look at her, I just want to laugh. But, she's a nice person, and hardly scary.

Yep them there liberals is all about censorship, like Catcher in the Rye, Huckleberry Finn, Harry Potter, The Bible (check it out, the most censored book), etc., etc. and on and on. Why are you folks so worked up about a word? Hey Lance, I take it back. "Homophobe" no longer exists. Feel better? Oops, I forgot you can't comment on the subject again (but you will!).

I saw him last night as well on Oprah and he was blah....I think that it has a lot to do with the idol machine doing what it wants with Adam instead of letting Adam do his own thing...I feel for the kid because he has to go out and get all excited about this and we know that he probably isn't...

he should definitely change his course-
