YouTube - Guy Sebastian - Like It Like That - Behind The Scenes

everything has happened during the past week, just amazing. Have I already dropped the NZ interview (love it, although Guy is rather serious - I am suspecting it took place after the recording of this video, because his voice is huskier than normal and he's not as playful as he usually is)

just one of the numerous pieces of media floating about yesterday, all with a shorter version of the above video

Guy Sebastian in tune with glamour girls

GUY Sebastian has enlisted another Australian "It" girl to add a dash of glamour to his return to the charts, as he goes back to original songs.
The soulful pop star shares the spotlight with Nine presenter Lyndsey Rodrigues in the video for his new single, Like It Like That.
Sebastian flirted up a storm with a sultry Jennifer Hawkins in the clip for a previous hit, Elevator Love.
Rodrigues could prove a valuable co-star should the Like It Like That clip be aired in the US when the single is released.
The statuesque star of What's Good For You has a high profile in America through her stint on MTV2's Total Request Live before it folded last year.
Although Sebastian said he enjoyed "great chemistry" with his video co-star, he joked that directors "always pick the tallest girl in the room as my leading lady".
"It's those high heels. Lyndsey is actually about my height without them," Sebastian insisted.
Australian music videos are increasingly starring or featuring cameos from popular actors and TV presenters.
Another Australian Idol alumnus, Wes Carr, shares screen time with Matthew Newton, Vince Colosimo, Pia Miranda and Charlotte Dawson in the clip for his latest single, Fearless.
And Pete Murray was nowhere to be seen in his last video, with actor Peter Fenton performing in Chance To Say Goodbye.
Sebastian has spent most of this year writing songs for new album Like It Like That and wooing the US market.
The single will hit radio airwaves in the next fortnight, with the album released in Australia and the US in October.

Interestingly, Guy's manager is leaving to set up his own company, and Guy and Lyndsey are going with Titus Day, who I think has dual citizenship with the US. Guy really IS something special in the way of an artist - almost 7-8 years now down his career and just going from strength to strength while so many tend to slip. Its going to be very interesting over the next 5 years.

meanwhile, love this video - love also how he keeps surprising us with a new look, and sense of fun, overlaid by his 'control freak' seeking for perfection.

btw THE MEMPHIS ALBUM is now out on US Itunes :)

EP Like It LIke That on US Itunes

The Memphis Album now on US Itunes

"Like It Like That" Australia single - physical and digital available from tomorrow
the video is already available (some error from the look of it on Sony's part, the release dates for ALL have been numerous! I'm talking at LEAST four different dates, and ditto for the album..... don't ask me, I'm just a buyer! and fan!!)

But

the physical has the fab. photo but apparently only 1 track

the DIGITAL will come with some trax, Guy was actually working on one earlier this week.

He has been working on another massive ballad, worked all night a few nights ago, he's just about ready to have a nap shortly. (He really IS a workaholic well known for it).

So the album is looking HUGE PLUS

there will be Bs on the digital just in case you missed above and

I will pop a fab. video unexpected :P in the video thread :boldred:

Hi there again :w00twave:

we'd love a No. 1 but there's been real difficulty with release dates being quite different, depending what store, what download site, etc - and whether physical cds are available or not. Hope they get it together for everyone else's cds. Anyhow, its all good and it was 'official' as of last Friday

Guy is doing massive promotion, because he is to return to the States in September so its a matter of finishing off the iTunes Bsides, the promised MJ youtubes, his ALBUM - and the fact that MORE tracks keep bobbing up which may or may not make it - but he does have a deadline. In his interview today he said his back was out because he'd been sleeping on his sofa in the studio, working around the clock. He's even on the Home show on this Friday, at his retreat in Queensland where he recently when fishing and horse riding.

On Sunday we had him on the Weekend Sunrise show which was v. interesting and he was able to verbally, straight to the public without misrepresentation, put his various thoughts out, including the Kyle and JackieO bit (which the girl is now as of yesterday refuting and saying she never was raped... )

He's had a few radio interviews since so I'll try to put downloads thanks to our media crew, here plus thanks to them again

http://www.kerrianne.com.au/public_panel/video_highlights.php

As Guy pointed out, the first year the Idol contestants were flat out, I remember they performed Sunday and Monday, also had major appearances all round the country during the week and on Thursdays there was Inside Idol, and probably more appearances at sporting fixtures if foot was still on etc. I personally think that when the concept changed to give the contestants more time, it was much the better and less stressful.

Anyhow, the TV interview - loving the ending when Guy says the difference he feels now is that everyone is so much more 'public' (I suspect with regard to twitter, there are the tools who keep tweeting their hate etc, simply because the whole concept is still a little like football teams - did we mention that Guy got to go in The Ultimate Mr Twitter and got 3rd or 4th  - Adam and David were the shining lights)

and that he's beginning to realise that as you get older you actually get more challenges, not less

Kerry Anne said (but)….. ..with your attitude and how you deal with it ... and with that great basis.. its "always such a pleasure to have you on, its nice to watch you grow as a musician, as a talent and as a human being, a great privilege"
where Kerry Anne says

Sorry haven't been here for a little while but things have been SOOO hectic.

What to say?

The single dropped into radio, turns out a little messy with regarding to actually selling it - some stores had different dates, physical cds had been selling for a week beforehand - or a week after the designated time!!

So it first came into our Charts as No. 6

Then No. 4

Then No. 2 - even tho it had been sitting very well everywhere on iTunes - it got pipped by 210 units in sales.

SO THIS WEEK "LIKE IT LIKE THAT" MADE NO 1!!

Everywhere!! The radio edit version has been taking off, gaining momentum all the time. Its being used as promo on Ch. 7 here in Australia, and non-fans of Guys have been coming over in a storm. If say that probably around 15 - 80,000 views in a three week period is considered amazing and definitely a hit on youtube- Guy is now lining up for 200,000!!!!

He's being run off his feet, finishing the album which will now be released in Australia on October 16 (a week delay), he just finished a Christmas Carol for the "Spirit of Christmas" CD which comes out each Christmas in aid of charity, he's writing or re-doing a couple of football anthems, he apparently has a BOLLYWOOD album in the pipeline - see his management, now http://www.6degreesmanagement.com.au

Titus Day is still his Australian manager

He has an EP on Australian iTunes which is AMAZING... seriously, the production is awesome and the songs superb. They include a cover of "Private Number" with US singer Cece White and beautiful song "Only Girl in Town" which I love desperately and which had better feature on stage.

And the song doesn't look like dropping, radio loves it.

YouTube - Guy Sebastian on ' The 7pm Project' Channel 10

I've put it like that so you can easily pick up the bits and pieces alongside, because he's barely been off TV or the air. In fact, did a Sunrise show where he turned up at before 6am - and was appearing with his band that night as main act for launching of new magazine! So in the Sunrise show he's not exactly being his usual sparkling self LOL.

The direct link above is to him appearing on Project7, at 7pm. Remember he's got a v. dry sense of humour

He's been #1 everything in the past fortnight. The song really HAS been taking everyone by storm.

He's so BUSY!! :haha:

but managed to fit in an indoor cricket game, and will be playing 'proper cricket' on Sunday... wish we knew where...

anyhow

For the second week - the song is taking people by storm and the only ones commenting against it are those who have never been Guy fans, and/or are extreme fans of other artists - in other words not those who have ever bought his music, listened to his music, gone to his shows etc.

So pleased that he has now had FOUR number one hits - and all without 'extras' to sell them with, too.

Ch. 7 using as a promo however, and also Fox stepped into that plate.

Even before he got his number 1 in Aria Charts he had this
"
http://www.vision6.com.au/download/files/2...diabaseSep3.jpg

#1 national airplay chart
#1 itunes
#1 bandit.fm
#1 bigpondmusic
#1 hot 30 many times (since it went to radio it has always been in top 4 generally #2 or #1 to my knowledge)"

supplied by one fan on September 3

physical CDs still hard to get

sorry to his US fans, he was building a nice audience in New York, with other States lining up but everything has just taken off here. This time is usually his busiest anyhow and with the added excitement of "Like it Like That" and the forthcoming FIFTH studio album (not counting The Memphis TOUR Live, or Your Song - both of which are available on iTunes), it really is 'all happening'.

also a quote from Mark Sheenan from The Script is yet another overseas soul musician who is impressed with our talented Mr Sebastian.

For the next 6-8 years, the duo worked diligently behind the scenes in the US to make a name, and establish themselves as songwriters and producers – they even flew to Australia on the request of Sony Music to work on sessions for Shakaya, Delta Goodrem, Selwyn and Guy Sebastian (“he’s a fantastic singer – that guy’s amazing,” says Mark)

and Guy will be on the Grand Final AFL Footy Show on TV... (his Adelaide Team The Crows has been really shaping up this year :P )

and just for the icing on Guy's cake

Guy has had "The Memphis Tour LIVE" in top iTunes Blues Albums since its inception. "The Memphis Album" continues to hold steady in pop iTunes albums, "Like It Like That" was sitting top of Pop singles AND overall
and Guy and Gary's "Receive the Power", sung by Guy and Paulini has been either on the top of Inspirational or at least in the top 10 since around 2008 - and now Matt Corby's EP is looking very good indeed (Guy has always been keen on producing, loves the 'sound' one can get). He's such a musical talent.
