What did all of you think about the performance of Andres Bocelli last night? I thought his singing was perfect. Amazing voice, with total control.

He's really good, but I've heard quite a few other male tenors in opera that I think are just as good or better, I don't know what the big fuss was over him in particular.

crickets.........sorry frank, I don't think anyone but us on this thing has the taste, culture and standards to listen to or appreciate classical music. I need you to send me some of your cuban cigars too. I told you no body with AI is going to be into anything classical. Post a OZZY/Black Sabbath theme night thread and see what happens.

Vocally, he's in a totally different league than any of the AI contestants. Only Kat could possibly sing some simple operatic bits with him. Totally different vocal requirements from singing a pop tune versus an aria.

He had a great voice and all. But since I'm not into that kind of music, I pretty much fast-forwarded it through most of his performance.

I thought he and Katharine sounded really great together during her practice session with him. The fact that she actually knew the song spoke volumes about her sophistication. Okay, that's enough grown-up talk....

The fact that you think that is sophistication......speaks volumes to me!

I agree, I was impressed by that. I think Kat's got this thing sowed up, although I would still rather see chris win. She is terrific though. To be so young and chime in right along with an extremely experienced opera singer like that was pretty impressive. None of the other wannabes could do that. She is a very well rounded singer.

LOL. Amen. It's not as though they were singing a duet from "La Boehme", that was a pop hit about a dozen artists have sung together.

Maybe we should order MusicLover some "cala-mari".

well whatever, it was still cool the way they blended, I admit there are limits to my mental musical encyclopedia

LOL! I think they should make a CD together with nothing but covers of Celine and Whitney songs. Wouldn't that be exciting?

I'm going to set my alarm to buy that CD.

A little pitchy for me.
