Think, if you can, its more important to get out & meet at clubs / groups where you share an interest, widen your scope.

Only met ONE that met through one of these net type things that appears successful and legitimate at the same time, mostly because people joining up don't put the real stuff on there. Like its, "Im 24 (lie, I'm actually 34 but I'm sure I don't look it), 5' 4" (actually, I'm 5'7" but 5'4" sounds good & they won't get too much of a shock) - then the other side turns up and THEY are 42 and 5'2" - so neither person is prepared for what they actually see! - type of thing.

At group type thingies, you can listen to input, discuss, see if they're overbearing pompous prigs, or could be nice, quiet, gentle humour behind the ordinary facade. And then continue on - because the first meeting doesn't mean that's what the person's really like.

And join up twitter!! ha ha - its fun - but don't get drawn into the smart comment set, because you'll get hurt! And that's all they're there for - to show how smart they can be, which isn't YOUR aim. Get tweetdeck, do a search column for your interests, and go from there.
