I just don't see how it can be premature. Danny has been the leading vote getter almost every week this season and had far more votes than Allison according to Dial Idol. Adam had the most votes and Dial Idol is on record as saying that Adam could only finish first or second.

Allison grew on me. That is why I wanted to make this thread as a place to remember her. Funny thing is she finally got knocked out on what I considered her best performance.

Allison at 14 she was on a show much like AI but it was on Telemundo and she won...50 grand and a recording contract this is the only english song I could find her singing...

She really is quite amazing. She's much better today, but it's hard to believe she was that good at 14. Although, it is kind of incredible how her style evolved. She looks like a season pro on stage today, but back then she looked a little awkward. She is so cute!

I really don't understand why she was in the bottom 3 so often. What didn't the voters like???

allison was imo the freshest breath of air the show has had in all the time i've watched it. i knew her days were numbered because of her frequent bottom 3 appearances... but she deserved better and i believe history will support this, as with daughtry. i think two or three years from now they will be talking about this night.:(

What I think about Kris is he changed over the course of the show. In the beginning I didn't think he would last but it seemed to me that each week he got better. Not stellar but better. I like Allison but I never saw that same growth in her or any other contestant this season that I saw in Kris.
Even the judges commented on his ability to learn and grow. Simon was just interested in his posture.

But, alas...soon the show will be over and I'll buy Michael Johns CD when it's available here and file this season away in the back of my mind.:outtahere

I kind of agree with you on Kris but only to a point. He was easily the worst vocalist at the beginning of the final 13. He then started getting better where I actually thought he belonged. This week he reverted back to his vocals of the first couple weeks. Allison started out as a wannabe rocker and by the end I was actually thinking she was pulling it off.

Clearly Kris was out of his element during rock week. When you're a fish out of water you do the best you can. I didn't think it was all that great but I don't think it all that bad. Somebody described it as mediocre...I'll buy that.
Allison for some reason obviously didn't have that same connection as Kris with of those who voted. And when it comes down to it that's where it's at, connection.

It was really appropriate that Daughtry played tonight, because this truly was one of those horribly wrong eliminations. Like Daughtry, I think that Allison will be a very successful artist in the near future.

As to Kris, I don't think he's better than Allison, but I would certainly rank him above Danny. I thought his Beatles cover was really good and the duet suffered more from horrible song choice than anything. That Styx cover was a much better fit for Danny than Kris. Hopefully this is the last time we see duets at all.

Danny's solo performance was absolutely horrible. If he had sang that badly during his audition, he would have made the show as one the really bad singers that they put in for the morbid factor.

I have to disagree with the Taylor Hicks comparison they are nothing alike...Taylor was a soul man who loved his harp more than playing his guitar...Danny is a man who loves God and was the Praise leader in his church before trying out for AI...I believe that he is most comfortable singing non-secular music...The same thing goes for Kris both of these men were fish out of water in huge way (Thanks Hangnail) because they are used to leading people to sing such songs as...

I think that Danny is a lot like Taylor Hicks, but I'm not even looking at their personality or background. Danny and Taylor have very similar voices and they perform with similar styles. Neither one worries too much about perfect vocal performances as much as they just like to get up there and have fun. They both have gravelly voices that work a lot better for freeform, kind of wild bluesy rock songs than they do for real melodic soft things. They both sing real loud most of the time. Neither one does much arranging or reworking of the music.

Maybe that's why the same people that like Taylor Hicks, like Danny. ;)

I couldn't agree more. Her vocal talents and performing skills are amazing.

I think the only thing that could derail her is the whole childhood star thing. Somehow, she still has to finish high school, deal with boyfriends, move out of her parents house, become an adult in general. Hopefully she has a great support system to keep the instant fame under control.

Lance I love Chris Rice every time I hear Untitled Hymn not only do I cry but I get goose bumps and will always remember the 1st time I heard that song....It was when my Pastor's wife signed it during a Christmas service and no one in our congregation is deaf....Auna our Pastors wife learned sign language as her 1st language because her older brother by 2 years was 100% deaf and she went to school with him she is so fluid...Here is a short example of what she has taught the Sunday School children..
