So we've all heard that Casey isn't getting the same amount of attention as Anthony (runner-up) is getting. Who agrees with this??
Well I personally, was never a fan of Casey and was barracking for Anthony, however as winner of Idol, I think she deserves more publicity then Anthony or at least equal amount.

Anthony sure is getting the profile, but you have to hand it to him, I think it's because he has released better music.
I member watching Casey win last year during Schoolies. It was hard getting the team out that night, they just wanted to stay in and drink to Casey.
I hope things pick up for her.

there does seem to have been a definite lean by their management (same management) towards Anthony.
However it MIGHT (just might) be something to do with the following (I hope)
Anthony is very Il Divo, Amici - which was definitely the flavour of the month for 2005. He released his beautiful version of "The Prayer" almost immediately after Casey released her winning single!! I will always think that really stank because it was done by the same management and of course the record company. Not sure whether his album went 3 P yet.
Casey was 16 when she won - there are not a huge lot of venues she could successfully and legally play at, because of this fact. Anthony had been earning his living by singing - I think he was in a group at that time as a matter of fact. Casey was still studying but she had gained a scholarship - to see her sing and hear her does explain why. And of course, as the winner she was given a crappy song (for her) - Casey is an attitude chick but the songs given her did not have a whole lot of that.
Having said all that I recently noted that Anthony will be carrying a baton at the Commonwealth Games here in Australia. It was always my belief that that honour was given to either past greats in the sporting field (to do with the Games) or by ballot - to give ordinary people a chance! If anyone from Idol or whatever carried the baton, it is my belief it should have been Casey who is from an Australian indigenous background, so I'm not sure why Anthony should have been singled out for this honour. Another coup by THEIR management?
Overall - Anthony is cute, although small but has this great voice. Casey is not cute although she COULD be beautiful if she wished - marvellous facial features there and has a great voice too. Anthony will go on singing for years - after all, he already had a job in the industry although he'd apparently sent demo cds for some time, trying to get a contract. Casey will also go on entertaining for years, but I still get the feeling that she will be able to use her standing towards breaking down barriers and helping other indigenous artists.
------------
PS I have endeavoured to be as fair as I can from what I have seen in the media and overall. I am not an obsessed fan of either but do appreciate their vocal talents, and in Casey's her stage presence.

Casey has certainly had a much quieter time in the last year and a half than Anthony and I believe a lot of this had to do with their shared management and also the lack of faith shown in her by the label (to do with her age and her image). While Anthony has certainly been in the media and public eye, Casey has actually been quite busy, slowly working her way in to the industry. She has been doing gigs - predominantly small intimate ones in Sydney (including The Basement with Wendy Matthews, The Vanguard, Revesby RSL and St Mary's RSL, and resident at the Sandringham Hotel throughout November/December), although she has done a few interstate gigs as well (Foxtel 10th birthday celebrations in Brisbane in November, her first solo gig in Melbourne at the Grand Central Cafe in December and a performance at an indigenous festival in Tasmania in January).
She has been busy writing and collaborating on material for her new album due for release mid-year... and I think it will re-launch her career as I have heard a few of the new songs and they are brilliant.
Last weekend she was honoured with being asked to perform in the closing ceremony for the Commonwealth Games and she certainly shone in her moment there.
PS: Anthony has recently ditched Karma as his management team so hopefully they will have more time to concentrate on Casey. At the very least a National Tour to co-incide with the launch of her new album.
