I'm a fan of Paris' as well. Unfortunately, you won't find too many others on this site who agree with me. Most of them are too hung up on her looks and the way she talks.

What a relief. But I think she'll be gone next week. I'd rather it were Taylor, but what are the odds of that?

Paris is the first one who caught my ear in this entire show, I think, from any season. The girl really blew a lot of people away in the beginning, but she's lost so many fans for being who she is. It seems she doesn't have any desire to tell her story. It's almost as if she's waiting for something to hit her... Her raw talent is what attracted people in the beginning, but she hasn't shown us something more. I think it's because she's so young and wasn't even planning on becoming a singer... she needs a year or three to "work it out." Then maybe she will be something stunning (to me) again. I hope so.

Well, she is great anyway... Whatever she does, she has my support.

Paris was so enigmatic, and interesting in the beginning.

But the Minnie mouse personality, and lack of background is just not sparking anything.

I hope she goes far..but I don't think she'll make it any farther soon.

Probably one of the top two vocalists in the contest. If the contest were just on vocal talent alone, she'd be in the top two and would have a good chance to win it all. But it's not just vocal talent alone. If it were, Ace would have been gone long before Mandisa. It's about 'the total package'. I think she has the vocal talent, but doesn't connect with the audience very well. Then again, this season AI has spent so much time pimping Pickles, Taylor, and a couple others and so far almost ignored Paris. And so far she hasn't found a 'style' of her own. Part of that is she has such a great range that she's not really constrained to one style. But she has to put her personal signatures on her performances, not just mimic others. Until she makes the songs hers (shows that she's bigger than the songs) she'll be in the bottom group. And so far I don't see her getting out of that rut. But so far every one of the artists that have worked with the contestants have been impressed with her voice. She just needs the rest of the package. She's by no means unattractive, she just needs to infuse some personality into it.

I won't deny the girl can sing. She has incredible vocal rang and control, but to me, it feels forced and passionless. Pickles may have been robotic, but Paris seems far more contrived.

Here is how I see Paris: She is a cute kid with a funny squeaky little speaking voice, and a massive, powerhouse singing voice. She comes from this long line of singers and performers, who, in their own vanity, probably had this kid in singing lessons before she could speak. They wanted her to follow in their footsteps. So, here is Paris, at 17, quirky and trying to figure out who she is, but trying to break away from her family because singing isn't her thing. I can just here her mother, "Paris, you should try out for American Idol. You could win that competition easily!" So she tries out, makes it, and gets caught up in all of the hype.

Watch Paris. If you can, go back and rewatch just her throughout the season. She is always trying different styles of clothes, her smile seems painted on, and when she breaks down, she Really breaks down, and the mascara rivers run wild. Paris is struggling with her identity, just like every other teenage kid in the world. The problem is, she is doing it on national television right now, and it definitely makes her less desireable to many viewers.

I don't hate Paris, I just cannot stand that she is still in this competition. She isn't a seasoned polished performer like most of the others, she is painted and shined, then stuck in front of the cameras, wound up, and Ta Da!

Katherine is sultry. She looks into that camera, right at you, and melts you. Elliot and Taylor are clearly having fun up there. Chris is a rockstar, and he knows it! But Paris, she is just a kid, and it shows in all of her performances, no matter what she wears or what she sings. I simply do not understand her appeal.

Mandisa was a powerhouse too, and a MUCH better performer, but alas, she left us a long time ago. I would Paris had gone in her stead.

Here is hoping she goes home next week. She needs to focus on growing up and finding out who she really is.

Paris will be fine after this is over. She doesn't need this competition. She will have an outstanding singing career if she wants it.

Best point in here. Even earlier when they were talking to her she said she was going to quit singing. Her family talked her into trying out for AI. She told them if she didn't make it she'd quit singing. Now she's gone this far. I hope she will continue as she's an exceptional vocal talent. But she does need to get past the identity crisis of youth. Once she does, she'll be a star not doubt.

Well said, Feisty Kitty. However, she is appealing to me. I think she has an interesting voice and brings an interesting personality to the stage. Not a very clear one, though.

I can't say I hope Paris pursues a career in music. If that's not what she wants, then she shouldn't do it.

And Paris said she's NEVER nervous because she trusts God completely. Somehow I see a connection between that and her not looking like she cares about being in the bottom group.

No offense, Ciuma, but aren't you about Paris's aga? Of course she would appeal to you!

It isn't just her youthful lack of identity. Although I will give her voice props because it is an amazing instrument, it timbre and quality do not appeal to me. It feels heavy and forced, as does everything else about Paris. It is my opinion, and I don't want to try to convince anyone.

Except........................Remember her fake smile and tell me that this is making her happy!

What do you mean "Of course she would appeal to [me]"? There were a lot of people my age in the competition, and they didn't all appeal to me.

Paris is not my favorite, obviously, but I really like her voice. However, I find it interesting how you feel that it's "heavy and forced." Maybe it is my age, but there's something I like about a person that is young and has more than one thing, like music, on her mind... who doesn't seem confident in an empty way as many young people do. I guess I just relate to her, but on more levels than age.

I all that has been said on this thread on Paris, I agree, she does not need to stay up there. She needs some time to just be a teen and not be under pressure from her family then she can make her own decision to go on. I think she will go this week, if Taylor can win over a great performance.

Paris is a very good singer, the loudest 17 year old i've heard. i really like her personality. u guys are just boring, dats all. she's really funny, i saw a photo of her squeezing Kevin's cheeks LOLZ. don no why some of you r sayin she lacks personality. u guys are just old boring ppl. but of course they're just opinions of yours I wont argue with you.
