Some good talent was excluded from the wild card "pool". I wonder what the judges criteria was to be in the wild card group?!
Stephen Fowler was much better than Tatiana but he wasn't in the group.
One has to wonder!

Stephen Fowler, Kristen, Felicia and Anne Marie were the ones I hoped would make it to wild card that didn't. Matt Giraud is the one who made it through that I thought "what were they thinking" Overall they did a pretty good job.

Junot should be selected as well.

We agree Lance...well at least on 2, i can't have an opinion on the other 2 because I don't remember hearing them....I have missed to much ai this year but Kristen and Felicia are the 2 that I thought should have gone through.....

With one notable exception...Tatiana.
By the look on Simon's face I have to think that it was the producers that made the sections and not the judges.

The only thing I can figure about the judges' uncanny choices is a) they're insane b) they have some sort of system, perhaps a roster of "types" and if they pick one in that category, they can't have another in that category. For example, they probably don't want both Matt Breitzke and Michael Server, because they're too similar, (though Breitzke is infinitely better, IMO). I have to believe they added Tatiana because she's controversial, though I'd much rather have had Norman serve that function. It still doesn't explain why the heck they passed up Ju'Not and took on an absolute waste of time like Von. Seriously, if you were a producer, who would you put your money on? And it also doesn't explain wht tf they passed up Felicia Barton and took on the incredibly insipid Jessie. I'm so annoyed, I don't know why I keep watching. My mother-in-law isn't annoying and I think God cursed me with this obsession to balance out my bother quotient.

What about Von. I mean, really?

Agree, Don't think he should have gone through.

Tatiana was purely for ratings....

mhleta you simply don't get that Von though not being particularly likeable has possibly the best voice of all the males in the competition this year. Junot was simply pleasant to listen to. Von could actually be a contender with some good coaching and if he can restrain his mad vocal ability enough to sing things people actually like.

"possibly the best voice of all the males in the competition this year."
Debatable. I thought Matt or Ricky Braddy was much better but it's all about what or who you like.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one Lance. Last night Von show just how NOT ready he is for a competition like this. He looked like he was about to cry before he even started singing. His nerves are psyching him out big tome. He may well have a big bad voice in there but until he gets a handle on it and learns to perform in a way that's less unpleasant to watch, he hasn't got a shot. I think he's picked up a lot of bad, amateurish performing habits from his mentors.

Ju'Not on the other hand is all ready to go. You could put him on a big stage and he could, I'm certain, please an audience for a full hour or two. Just my opinion, but I'm stickin' to it.

I'll think we'll just smile here and resign ourselves to disagreement. I think Von has some natural talent, but he doesn't have any control at all. In last night's performance, all of the soft notes were horribly unsupported. He does sound great on the big notes though!

If I'm posting this a second time, apologies, but my first didn't go through for some reason. I disagree, Lance. I think Ju'Not has the chops, the confidence and the stage presence to hold an audience for an entire show NOW. He's ready for roll out, good to go. Von looked like he was going to cry last night before he even started singing. He's got some bad, amateurish habits that he still needs to get rid of (though I'll give him mad props for improving a lot already) but he won't be ready for roll out until he gets a handle on all of this and learns to sing from the soul and control his "instrument" better--and by this I mean his voice, his body and his face.

He was good but IMO not as "smooth" as the judges said he was but not bad.

Junot is definitely better tha Kris. There are too many good ones in Group 3.

Actually Mhleta it looks like we totally agree on Von after reading this post of yours. Von has a big bad voice but he needs to get a handle on it and learn to perform in a way that's less unpleasant to watch. Junot is merely adequate and if I was in some lounge for a couple hours I could tolerate him but to actually listen to him for an hour or two no I don't think so.

In my opinion the two that have made it through that I absolutely don't understand are Matt and Kris. Actually I do know why Kris made it through. He got the pretty boy vote.

You must have had the volume turned down and missed Matt's performance.
When he picks songs that suits his voice the guy can sing!

Yeah Matt does a GREAT job on bluesy stuff. I don't think he'll last long when though, when we get into theme nights.

I think Kris is an equal to Anoop and a lot of the other guys. I think he desrved his spot, but Adam and/or Danny will hammer all of them.

The guy I really don't understand is Michael. Seems like an OK guy, but one of the best 13 out of umpteen thousand that auditioned? Sorry, no.

Right? Pretty sure he'll be the first to go. How ever did he get all those votes?!?

Unfortunately here in Texas there's a lot of oil field workers out of work right now. Must be filling in the free time watching AI.

I agree he's not the best but I read on another site that they're singing songs by Michael Jackson on Tuesday night, should be interesting.

Oh, jeez. Right--how bad must that suck? These are some proud proud people, I'll bet.:( Well, if it helps them feel less miserable then I'm glad he's there and I hope he makes them all the more proud.
