I am a Kat fan and I thought she did great last night. She takes HARD
songs and does well with them. I didn't think the judges were fair at all.
After all, are we comparing her to Whitney or the other contestants???
Am I missing something here? Any comments from other Kat fans???

I was equally shocked at the judges comments with Kat. I thought she did great as well. If they don't want to compare them to other artists and their songs, they why do they have a theme?

I completely agree that ALL three judges were unfairly harsh with Kat. The comments they made were shocking. She gave one of the best performances I have ever seen on ANY American Idol show and then was slammed by all three judges... none of whom had any positives comments about her singing.Randy and Simon both said "You were saying you were as good as Whitney Houston because you chose this song." Says who? She had to sing something and somebody else would have sung whatever she chose before her. In no way was she saying I am better than Whitney Houston. I think all three judges owe her a huge apology. Everyone I have talked to agreed that they were ridiculously wrong about this performance. They looked really bad after their comments. I for one think Kat is not only as good as Whitney Houston but much kinder and far more beautiful inside and out. Randy you seem very racist in your judgments and Paula? she can't sing anywhere near as good as Kat and has the nerve to critize her and keep a straight face. Kat you rock! You were amazing!

It probably isn't fair to judge AI contestants by the originator of the song they are doing. That being said it's only natural for people to compare Whitney's performance of the song with Katharine's. Clearly, Katharine dose not have the have the voice that Whitney had, but when you compare Katharine's performance with the other AI contestants then she would have to be rated as average. The think the big problem with Katharine choosing "I Have Nothing" is that she dose not have the vocal range or power to do the song well.

Kat IS an amazing singer, and that's why I was so angry after that crappy "judging".

I mean.....yeah...duh...she's only like 22(?). So it's not like she'll NAIL it THAT night after rehearsing one of the most hardest songs ever made after a week of rehearsing.

And all that bullsh** about how she dissapointed the viewers and didn't "nail" it is total baloney.

Give me a break...she did an awesome job...and yeah...it DIDN'T sound Exactly like whitney's version.

But liked it BETTER anyway.

If she didn't think she could nail it, then she was an idiot for choosing it in the first place.

[EDITED FOR FLAME-BAITING] Still making excuses for her.

[EDITED FOR FLAMING!!!]

You truly are pointedly harassing me.

I'm not making an excuse for Kat.

Because Kat didn't NEED one.

As I said...she did a really GOOD job. She didn't deserve that bad of a critique.

Even Ryan was surprised by the judges comments, and the audience, and ME.

Let's control the emotions and refrain from pressing the wrong buttons.
