Paris was sounded forced and as i expected, the females didnt stand out at all with this show tonight... Kellie was absolutely awful, and I'm glad the Judges finally mentioned how being cute wasnt good enough anymore...

Taylor is up next, and I bet he brings the house down! Might even be as good as Elliott...

Taylor wasnt on his best tonight, but still, in my opinion delivered a good performance... Yes, Elliott had his moment tonight, and COMPLETELY nailed it! If he gets voted off, i will be completely shocked since his talent is off the charts!

I totally agree. I am sure glad that the judges slapped Pickler a good one tonight. :jump1:

I will add this, however. I can't believe how shallow America is! I guess I should believe it-we are the country who made Brittany Spears rich and Paris Hilton a household name. What the heck is going on? I have been routing for Elliot since day one and I refused to pull for Mandisa or Paris just because they are black (I'm black, but I refuse to just pull for someone based solely on race).

Well said bertha, may the best singer win.

Here's one for the conspiracy buffs to munch on, if the judges ganged up on Kellie tonite do you think that would make her fans less likely to vote for her or more likely?

If they think she is in trouble they will be dialing their fingertips off.

Elliott blows me away! Awesome performance, awesome talent!! I'm glad he finally got some kudos from Randy and Simon tonight .... he certainly has earned it. Not just tonight but every week.

Kellie's performance was awful and if she isn't going home tomorrow night there is a flaw in the system. Her performance was awful last week, too.

I wasn't impressed with Katharine, Paris or Taylor. In my opinion Chris was Elliott's only competition tonight and I still think Elliott has the edge. Not only is he majorly talented but his persona is so humble and approachable. He sings with so much emotion.

This is how I rate tonight's performances:

No. 6 Kellie Awful - SHOULD be going home
No. 5 Taylor Boring performance, flat vocals
No. 4 Katharine Lackluster, nothing special
No. 3 Paris Okay, but it seemed to drag in places
No. 2 Chris Very good song choice, he sang with passion
No. 1 Elliott AWESOME! The total package tonight.

LOL. Yeah, that flaw is called the American viewing public.

Definitely!

I've given this some serious thought, and have come to the conclusion that it could go either way... For family members, hometown supporters and true die hard fans, recognizing she might be in trouble after 2 straight horrible performances, will most likely 'dial their finger tips off'.... However, the average person out there that may have been voting based on looks, or voting to join the band wagon, or just be a follower since 'it seems everyone else likes her, so should i' mentality (which in my opinion is mostly what the general public is made up of, followers, not leaders), might actually listen to the judges this go around and realize what they have been doing by continuing to vote for her isnt right isnt right... Again, with the 'follower' mentality, the could very easily side with the judges since the were now told that cuteness isnt enough, and 'follow' the judges advice...

At this point in the game it is getting easier to seperate the talent from the gimmicks, and even a follower can certainly now recognize that Kellie is getting blown away, causing them to start voting for deserving candidates.

I was surprised that the judges beat up on Katherine last night. I thought she did quite well. No, she didn't sing it better than Whitney Houston, but none of these contestants have sang a song better than the original artists.

Taylor looked very uncomfortable last night. Overall, he did okay, but it seemed like he was really holding back.

I thought this was Chris' best performance

Kellie probably deserves to go, but I don't think she did horrible.

I thought Paris did well, but she'll probably be in the bottom three because I think I'm only one of about five people that like her.

Here's my prediction: Simon really loved Elliot so he probably will be voted off undeservedly.

katharine was actually really good. i didnt think that the song was too big for her. chris also did really well. i didnt think that he would be able to sing anything other than rock. paris wasnt that good in my opinion. elliot was pretty good. taylor wasnt my favorite last night. he should have chose a different song.

I agree the judges beat the @#$% out of Kat and I thought she didn't deserve that bad of a review, I hope Chris wins at this point, there needs to be a guy/rocker win this for a change, we've had too many chick singers win and most are better than Kat, although I think she's more than decent.

She may not have sang 'as good' as Whitney Houston (when the song was recorded) but.......if you'd compare to how Whitney would sing it NOW, Katharine's got her beat. Whitney couldn't sing 'her' song today if she'd try. TJMO

Oh please, now you're just talking nonsense. I heard Whitney perform at a benefit about a year ago and her voice is as awesome as ever.

If you're comparing talent, if Kat is a 7 than Whitney is about a 15. Then or now.

And you last heard Whitney sing....when? Com'on, you didn't even know who Andrea Bocelli or the Carpenters were, I'm sure you've never heard of Whitney Houston either.

Uhhh..about a few years ago during SNL or either David Letterman.

She made the headlines(due to her emaciated state)....and her performance was less than impressive.

I was stunned by how much weight and talent had diminished.

just sick of the rocker guys not winning and it being a standard chick singer a.k.a. Kelly Clarkson, fantasia, Carrie U-Wood (don't get me wrong I absolutely love Carrie U-Wood) but just think its time for a guy rocker winner. Besides, judging by how the rest of the finalist are ALL fairly mediocre in the grand scheme of things, Chris is probably as good or better than the rest. Regarding Whitney Houston, she may still be a good singer, and probably better than Kat, but the girl is a straight up crack-head literally, the last time I saw her on TV she looked like the crack whores I pass when I have to go through the seedier parts of town in the S@#$ hole city that I live in. Her and Bobby B have been sucking their earnings up through their crack pipes.

I'd like to see a chick rocker win it next year. Someone who models themselves after Joan Jett.

Whitney Houston has some serious health issues, no doubt. But to suggest that Katherine McPhee has anywhere near her talent----whether Houston is healthy or not---is absolutely ludicrious.

I saw her sing live (two songs) at a charity benefit in Los Angeles in February of 2005. She looked frail (she's always been skinny as a rail) but she still sounded like an absolute angel. I have no idea if she was coherent or not but there was nothing wrong with her voice.
