Bocelli night on Idol, My thoughts.........

Let me begin this post by saying that if you are expecting uptempo song performances tonight, you will be very disappointed. If Idol uses Bocelli's songs you will get a line of slow operatic love songs. I sampled 14 of Andreas Bocelli's songs. Three of the 14 were sung in English, the rest were in Italian. Let me tell you that His singing voice is perfect. His tenor renditions of his music are flawless . Even without knowing how to speak Italian, I found his music incredible. I realize that the majority of Idol fans are younger than I,(I'm 51), and you may be bored by tonight's show. But one day you will have put enough distance and time behind you, that a singer Like Andreas Bocelli will touch something inside you. This man is incredibly talented.

I'm wondering, are the idols actually confined to his catalogue of music? Or are they simply using him as the guest coach / Wednesday night act (with the Idols being free to pick "any" love song)? I'd prefer to see the later as it opens up the possibilities for song selection. I can't imagine they would limit the Idols to only his music.

Insult dog, I too am a fan of classical music and even play both classical and rock, but this guy is LAME, this is American Idol not auditioning for the Boston Symphony Orchestra. There is obviously a producer at this network that has been bribed by one (or all) of the other networks to intentionally sabotage this show with excruciating bad themes. This is supposed to be about rock/pop/C&W (modern) music. Not medeivel gregorian chants. I mean I too have the 3 tenors in my collection and love it, but AI is not the place for this. We need Van Halen night.
