Review of Online Dating Service - Compare the Two
eHarmony Review:
The Cadillac of all the dating sites is eHarmony.com in my opinion the single best dating site I've used. I think what makes them better than most is the fact that there are so many people to choose from. I've been on some dating sites where when I perform a search for single women in my area I get a handful. The big difference with eHarmony is when I preformed my search I found over 114 women that were in my geographical area and meet my requirements. The 29 compatibility dimension system they have worked well for me. I went on a total of two dates.
First Date:
The first women I went out with was Andrea. Andrea was a year younger than me so basically the same age. She had a lot in common with me including similar music and TV shows. Halfway through our dinner date I knew she couldn't be the one for me. When she first ordered her food, she specifically told the waiter that she wanted all her food on separate plates. She explained to me that she has this thing with food touching each other. I thought to myself this was weird but I could deal with this if this was the worst thing about her. Guess what?
It wasn't, her cell phone keep ringing the entire night and she would answer it every time. During dinner it must have rang 5-6 times and she talked on it for 2-3 minutes each while I just sat there staring at the wall. She even had the nerve to lie to some guy named Andrew on the phone and tell him she was at the gym. (Andrea the liar) I was thinking it must have been a boyfriend or something like that. I was getting mad and was starting to think that eHarmony wasn't for me. So after dinner she mentioned to me something about hanging out on Saturday night. I quickly lied (white lie) to her and told her my parents were coming in to visit for the weekend.
Second Date:
My 2nd date was with Melissa. We meet for dinner at a Japanese Teppanyaki steak house where they cook the food right in front of you. I could tell right off the bat that Melissa was a lot of fun. We ordered a few drinks and had great conversation about what she does for a living. After dinner we decided to continue our date and went to hang out at a casino nearby that had a lounge where a band was playing. It's been five weeks since my first date with her and we are now "dating" and it seems like this could be the one.
Great Expectations Review:
I wasn't sure what to expect from Great Expectations I've never really heard too much about them. I was able to sign up fairly easy and search for women in my local area. After browsing for an hour I finally narrowed by pick down to two.
First Date/Call:
Sharon was the first call I made, her profile seemed adventurous and exciting. We did things a bit different and instead of meeting for a dinner date or something like we just talked on the phone for a while. It comes to find out that Sharon lives with her sister and doesn't really seem to have her life together. Not really what I was looking for. I'm going on 34 years old and I looking for a serious relationship.
Second Date Call:
Next was Audrey whom had another great profile. Her activities that she like were very similar to mine. She listed the beach, snowboarding and water skiing. I thought this might be another success but after leaving her a few messages she never called me back. Maybe she already found the guy of her dreams and forgot to take done her profile, who knows.
Conclusion?
Online dating services have come a long way and have tons of people looking for love. If Melissa and I stop dating then I might try and look again on eHarmony since I seemed to have the best results using them. eHaromny also had more fish in their database to choose from. Online dating for me is much easier than going to a bar and sifting through the party girls.
Last year Paul a buddy of mine met his finance through eHarmony and they seem happy together. It's been a little over a year for them and they are planning a spring wedding for next year. I've heard a lot more success stories than I have horror stories.
*Before I started dating I lost a few pounds on the South Beach Diet. Please feel free to email me with any questions you may have about my weight loss.
