The American Idol Results & Lady Gaga Again?

Okay seriously how many times is Lady Gaga going to be on American Idol this season? (More about this later).

The show got underway with a group performance that I actually enjoyed. For the most part I always enjoy watching what the group delivers well as just that a group. However, it seems like the guys in this season aren’t much for dancing and if they had more choreography to do they would be in big trouble.

We did learn thanks to Ryan Seacrest that next week’s theme will be “Songs of the Cinema”. That should be an interesting show since the songs could be from almost any year or movie. The Ford Video was something that I really enjoyed since the American Idol contestants had to sing “1-2-3-4” which is normally sung by Plain White T’s. They did an awesome job and with the video being simple they couldn’t have asked for better results.

This week’s theme was Sinatra songs which honestly I am not a fan of but at least most of them did a good job for the most part. The first person who was told they were safe from elimination was Lee DeWyze who was more than happy to take a seat.

Then we got to see an awful taped performance by Lady Gaga. Does anyone know exactly how many times her face has been seen on American Idol this season? I am starting to wonder if there is something going on with her and Simon Cowell! Her outfit was totally creepy and she really can’t sing very well. Now I know she’s huge on the market today but I am still trying to figure out why. Her dancing is okay but that is about all she has going for her. Is her “talents” even appropriate for a family show that small children are watching? Okay enough about her.

One of the favorite parts of the night was when we got to see clips of Harry Connick Jr.’s mentoring which showed his funny side. I really enjoyed when he sang a song from his latest album, “And I Love Her”. Then another group performance took place with all of the of the American Idol contestants singing songs by Harry Connick Jr. which only shows how great he really is. Maybe they can allow him to guest star on the show more to replace Lady Gaga. Who would be in favor of that?

So anyways back to the eliminations. Seacrest split the 4 remaining contestants into groups of two, Aaron and Mike in one group, and Casey and Crystal in another. When Lee was asked to pick the safe group he replied no. So who was deemed as safe? Crystal and Casey were sent to safety which left Aaron and Mike as the bottom two. So the results are in and unfortunately Aaron Kelly was sent packing. He sang his “Fly Me to the Moon” which will be his last performance on the stage as an American Idol contestant. Hopefully we will see him in the future performing on the stage as the upcoming start that he is.

We now have our final 4 and as the contestants become less the anticipation only grows to see who this season’s winner will be. Make sure to keep checking back for new updates and we can only hope that Lady Gaga makes another appearance on next week’s show.

American Idol Results – April 28th 2010

Ryan seemed very chattery last night which actually kind of irked me because I was anxious to hear the results of the show. However, like always we had to sit through performances which were okay because they did at least have an excellent lineup for the night. One of my favorite bands of the night was Rascal Flats who sang “Unstoppable”.

Did you catch the Ford commercial which was done by the American Idol contestants? If not you missed out because this one was actual epic. It was what I considered a mixture of gothic and vampires. Siohban definitely pulled off the look well which means if she doesn’t land a singing career maybe she can do horror films? Who knows!
Anyways back to the performers of the night. So Carrie Underwood stopped by AGAIN except this time to mainly introduce a band that she has worked with for awhile now: Sons of Sylvia. Really what kind of name is that for a band?

One performance that was really awesome was by Lady Antebellum who performed, “Need You Now” which is currently one of her biggest hits. Rascal Flats and Shakira performed together which was a very odd combination which I didn’t really like.

Hotties of the night that stopped by for really no reason at all were Cameron Diaz and Antonio Banderas. They are both gorgeous stars so of course they make the stage shine even when they are doing nothing at all. I wonder if either of them can sing.

So I am not sure why I need to point this out but did anyone else notice how Kara’s earrings made her head look quite funny? I wished I could rewind my TV just so I could record her and laugh later.

Anyways so onto the really important stuff…Who was the bottom 3? That would be Casey James, Siobhan Magnus, and Michael Lynche who all totally deserved to be there. However, I can’t help but feel a little sorry for them making it this far and then standing in the bottom 3 wondering if they will be the one going home. So the first one to be relieved and sent back to safety was Michael Lynche or better known as Big Mike. So that left Siobhan Magnus and Casey James standing as the bottom two knowing that ultimately one of them was about to sent home.

Of course everyone at home is holding their breath hoping that specific person that they dislike of the two is the one going to be sent home. I know that everyone was doing just that because so was I. I honestly was expecting Casey to be sent home and was surprised when Ryan called Siobhan’s name. This of course meant Casey is safe for at least another week.

I never really noticed any emotion in her face once she learned that she would be the one going home but at least she sang her last performance with dignity. She seemed as though she enjoyed herself.

So there you have it the results for this week’s American Idol. Who will be going home next week? I can’t wait to find out!
