Antonella is back in the spotlight but not for glamour or show biz. The senior at Catholic University is reaching out to the new generation of voters by singing the National Anthem, promoting talking avatars, and addressing first time voters on their essential participation for a better democracy.

A formal announcement on Antonella’s position as spokesperson for ElectionMall’s Voter Space will be made at the 2008 Politics Online Conference hosted by George Washington University’s Institute for Policy, Democracy, and the Internet (IPDI). Antonella is available for interviews in the Grand Ballroom of the Renaissance Hotel at 999 9th Street, NW until 7PM today and from 9AM – 4PM on Wednesday, March 5.

ElectionMall, a nonpartisan campaign and election technology company, is launching Voter Space this summer, which some consider to be ElectionMall’s secret weapon.

Indianapolis police say a mother of five was watching “American Idol” while her 3-year-old girl nearly drowned in a bathtub last week.

Sirius was in critical condition Friday at Methodist Hospital. She remained at Methodist on Monday, but hospital spokesman Gene Ford said he is not releasing any information at the family’s request.

Brooks left Sirius and her 1-year-old sister, Sereena, in the tub with about 9 inches of water and went into another room to get clothes, according to a police report made public Monday.

Brooks was in her bedroom when her oldest daughters, Daesheana Twyman, 7, and Dasianaye Twyman, 5, entered the room, police said.

“Daesheana stated that they were … watching ‘American Idol’ on TV … and her mother suddenly stated that she forgot and left the two youngest children in the tub,” Officer Gustavia Dodson wrote in the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department report.

Brooks told Daesheana to take the children out of the tub, police said. Daesheana found Sirius submerged and called for her mother.

Brooks performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation while her brother, Darnell Wilson, 38, called 911, police said.
Police found about an ounce of marijuana, five burnt marijuana cigarettes and a scale in the house, according to the report.

Daesheana, Dasianaye, Sereena and a 4-year-old girl not named in the report were placed in protective custody, police said.

Robbie Carrico, one of the ousted American Idol contestants, has admitted he once dated Britney Spears. The 26-year-old rocker used to be in pop group Boyz N Girlz United, and they opened for the starlet’s tour in 1999.

“It wasn’t really that big a deal,” he told reporters in a conference call.

Yeah… who hasn’t dated Britney???
