Simon and Co. Not the Only Ones Making $$$ Off “Idol” Tour

We all know that America has caught “Idol Fever” (note: not to be confused with “McPheever”), but the latest price tags show just how much that “Fever” will cost you.

At the box office, you can buy American Idol Live concert tickets starting out at $39.95. If you happen to be one of the unlucky fans who lives in or near a city where tickets are already sold out, there is hope…

Though American Idol has become a household name, there also exists the all-powerful entity called eBay.com. It’s been said that if you can’t find it on eBay, it doesn’t exist. Well, to all you unlucky fans who plan on trying to score some sweet Idol Live seats on eBay, you are surely in for a shock. Plan on digging deep into your children’s college fund!

This lady has done her research, and Alas! Tickets are selling for upwards of $800! (Free shipping; aren’t the sellers so considerate…) And the closer the concert date, the more the price rises. If the seller knows the local box office is sold out, hey, even more reason to raise that price tag! Buyer Beware: you may even be shelling out big bucks for crap seats!

The sad part? People are buying the tickets at these atrocious prices! The saddest part? Consumers are bidding more and more for these highly sought-out tickets, thus pushing the prices higher and higher… with no end in sight.

Ahh, Isn’t this the American way? Take something people love and make as much money off of it as humanly possible? There is a lesson to be learned here: don’t get so caught up in “Idol Fever” that you go for bankrupt.

I went on Ebay just to see if this ticket charade really was occuring and was wholly SHOCKED at the outrageous prices.

    One ticket was actually $1,400!!

Dang…it better come with front row seats, filet mignon, and a private meet and greet with the idols cus that is HIGHWAY robbery!

I love AI, but I wouldn’t be caught dead paying that insane price for a ticket.
