Tracy Lawrence Biography Tracy Lawrence was born in Atlanta, Texas on January 27, 1968. Like every other kid with a singing dream, he packed up and left for Nashville in 1990. He took on several odd jobs to make money while he tried to make it in the music scene. He started doing talent shows and he earned enough to live on. Then in 1991, he met Wayne Edwards at the Bluebird café where he had a gig, he heard him sing, and became his manager. He signed with Atlantic records and made his first album titled, "Sticks and Stones." On May 31, while walking his girlfriend to the door of her hotel room, three men with guns robbed them and attempted to force them back into her room. Lawrence resisted and ended up shot four times and his friend escaped. He went into surgery for two of them and one to this day is still in his pelvis. With the publicity of the shooting, his album sales shot his album to number 1 and several top 10 singles. His second album, "Alibis' went platinum, and had three number one hit singles. Tracy Lawrence was married in March of 1997 to a former Dallas Cowboy cheerleader and by September, they separated and in December, she filed charges against him for allegedly throwing her into the wall, punching and threatening to kill her. He admitted to shoving her and was convicted of a misdemeanor battery and fined $500 to be paid to a woman's shelter in Las Vegas. In the meantime, his record label suspended him until he got his personal affairs in order. Tracy Lawrence Songs. MP3 & Video
