Taylor Hicks Biography

Taylor Hicks became a household name when he won American Idol Season 5. Fans voted 63.5 million times to make him their favorite. So, when people hear, "Wooooo and Soul Patrol", they know it's Taylor Hicks.

Taylor, born in Alabama worked his way around bars and knocking on doors between Alabama and Florida to try and make a music career for himself. He even had a couple albums that didn't go far. Finding himself at a friend's wedding that was canceled in New Orleans, right before Hurricane Katrina, he hailed a cab and decided to turn in a free plane ticket to Las Vegas to go audition for American Idol. And win he did. The winning of American Idol has set him a part from songwriters all around the world and now he wants to make a name for himself apart from the show.

Taylor made the stage his home and that is where his heart is. You can definitely see it when he performs.
