Snoop Dogg Biography Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr. was born in Long Beach, California. However, he changed his identity to Snoop Doggy Dogg. This famous rapper, record producer, and actor is one of Dr. Dre's protégés with his famous saying, ""fo' shizzle, ma nizzle," which means, "for sure, my nigga." With Dr. Dre's help, they worked on the theme song for the movie Deep Cover and then went on to Dr Dre's debut solo album "The Chronic". Snoop then recorded DoggyStyle with Dr Dre in 1993, but while recording it he was arrested in the death of Phillip Woldermarian, a rival gang member. Snoop was defended by David Kenner and his bodyguard was defended by Johnnie Cochran. They were both acquitted however; Snoop was tangled up in the legal system for three more years. He went on to make a video, "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted' portraying what rappers had to deal with as a result of the concurrent criminal prosecutions. When DoggyStyle was released, it became the first album ever to enter the charts as number one. In 1994, a movie about Snoops murder trial was released called, "Murder was the case".
