Relient K Biography

Relient K was formed in 1998 in Canton, Ohio. Matt Thiessan and Matt Hoopes are the guitar section, Brian Pittman is on bass, and Todd Frescone is on the drums. During interviews, they explain they thought of the band's name from Matt's car a Plymouth Reliant K. The band released their first album in 2000 entitled "Relient K". They released two songs off the album. The first one was "My Girlfriend", which refers to Marilyn Manson. The other single was the song "Charles in Charge". That was the only single that was not written by a member of the group.

In 2001, the group released their second album called "The Anatomy of the Tongue in Cheek". The singles released from the album were "Pressing On", "Sadie Hawkins Dance", and "Less is More". The last one was a little over seven minutes long.

"Two Lefts Don't Make a Right...but Three Do" was the third album released by the group in 2003. There were only two songs released off this album. The first one was "Chap Stick, Chapped Lips, and Things like Chemistry" and the second single was "Mood Rings".

In 2004, the band was on their way with their fourth album entitled "Mmhmm". Some of the songs released was "High on 75", "Be My Escape", and "Who I Am Hate Who I've Been". This was Brian Pittman's last CD with the band. John Davis was featured on the CD on two of the songs.

"Five Score and Seven Years Ago" was released in 2007. For just releasing the album, they have three singles out already. The first single is "Must Have Done Something Right". The second and third singles were "Forgiven" and "The Best Thing". The album has reached number 6 on the charts.
