P. Diddy Biography

Sean john Combs born November 4, 1969 has been known under a few different names you might know including Puff Daddy, Diddy, and now P.Diddy. this man is an Empire tycoon. He has his own recording label, his own line of clothing, a movie production company, and two restaurants. He is a recording executive, writer, arranger, and a Broadway actor besides his singing career!

Born in Harlem P. Diddy knows what it is like to want for little things in life. He was only two years old when his father was shot in his car at the age of 33. After this tragic event in his life, he went on to finish his education at Roman Catholic Mount saint Michael Academy in the Bronx in 1987. then he went to Howard University in Washington D.C. After graduating, he became an intern for UpTown record company.

Learning the business came easy to P Diddy so he started his own record label called Bad Boy records. He immediately had success with Craig Mack, The notorious B.I.G. releasing hit singles. He then went on to produce for Mary J. Blige, Usher, Lil' Kim, TLC, Mariah Carey, Boyz II Men, SWV, Aretha Franklin, and others, and forming The Hitmen, an in-house production team. Having these people on his label began the rivalry between Bad Boys and Death Row records.

He continues to produce new musicians all the time but in 2002, he made a hit reality show called "Making the Band". The contestants get to compete to be in a group on Bad Boy records.

In 2003, he entered the New York marathon and raised two million dollars for the educational system of New York. He was on Oprah to discuss it the marathon, as he finished it in four hours and eighteen minutes.

In 2005, P. Diddy went on the Today show and said he was again changing his name. P. Diddy announced he was dropping the P. and would just be known as Diddy.

Also in 2005, Warner Brothers purchased his Bad Boy records; however, he will remain the CEO. In the entertainment industry, he is one of the wealthiest men and he was featured as "40 Richest people Under 40" in Fortune magazine.
