Miley Cyrus Biography
If you’re a teenager or have a teenager in your home, then you know who Hanna Montana is from her hit show on Disney. Miley Cyrus is the girl playing Hanna and Miley. In the Disney original show, no one knows Miley is actually Hanna except for a few select friends.
Miley is the daughter of famous country singer Billy Ray Cyrus who also stars along side Miley in Hanna Montana as her stage dad.
Miley Cyrus was born on November 23, 1992 and named Destiny Hope “Miley” Cyrus in Franklin, Tennessee. She has two older half brothers named Christopher Cody and Trace. They both sing and play in a band called, Metro Station. Miley also has a younger half sister, Brandi, a younger sister Noah Lindsey and a younger brother Braison. She was nicknamed Miley because she was always ‘smiling’.
Miley says her faith is what keeps her in Hollywood. She attends church regularly with her family. She is the goddaughter of Dolly Parton.
Her acting career started at age nine when she played a guest role on her fathers television show, “Doc”. Since then she has also played in “Big Fish”, and Rhonda Vincent’s music video, “If Heartaches Have Wings”. She auditioned for a Disney show when she was 11 but they said she was too small. Guess they had a change of heart when she was chosen to star as Hanna Montana. They said they chose her because she was so energetic, was reliable like Hilary Duff, and has the stage presence of Shania Twain. She has gone on to make albums and perform on stage as Hanna Montana, her alto ego.
Disney released the Hanna Montana Soundtrack on Oct 24, 2006. This has eight songs that she performed as Hanna. She has also signed on to make four albums of her own as Miley Cyrus. Now, there is talk of a Hanna Montana Movie that will be produced by her on-screen and off-screen dad, Billy Ray Cyrus.
Disney also started a Hanna Montana Clothing line last summer and Miley has helped design some of the outfits. She said girls do not want costumes they want to dress as if they are Hanna’s friend. So she is the best one to design that, don’t you think?
