Matchbox 20 Biography Matchbox 20 is now known, as matchbox twenty. Their first album was released in 1996 called; "Yourself or Someone Like You" was a hit with rock-radio only. They had a couple Top 40 hits from singles released from the album. After this, the album received more status and eventually sold over 12 million copies. In 2000, they renamed the group to matchbox twenty and released their second album, "Mad Season". This album had two hit singles, "Bent" and "If You're Gone." Their third album in 2002, called "More Than You Think" is a harder rock sound than the first two albums. This album had three hit singles, "Disease", "Unwell", and "Bright Lights." Then in 2004, the band released a DVD of their live concert, Show: A Night in the Life of Matchbox Twenty. As of February 2005 Gaynor left the band. Since then they have been on hiatus and pursuing others agendas. Rob Thomas went on to release his solo album, "Something To Be". It went to number one in the first week. The album had four hit singles, "Lonely No More", "This is How a Heart Breaks", "Ever The Same" and "Streetcorner Symphony". He said he was kind of scared when he first went out on his own again, and he found out one thing. He likes working with others. He doesn't care to be alone on anything anymore.
