Keith Urban Biography

Keith Lionel Urban was born in Whangarei, New Zealand on October 26, 1967. He started very young with his dream. By the age of seven, he was already learning to play and sing. His band was being booked for shows by the time he was twelve and at fifteen, he quit school to go on the road. Keith had a problem that started in 1998 and checked himself into a treatment center in Nashville, determined to beat this addiction. Shortly afterwards, he released his self-named album which produced three top five hits.

Since 2000, he has released eight albums, has received 44 different awards, from Top male Vocal to Country Music Associations Outstanding Achievement Awards. His albums have gone from Gold to Quadruple Platinum. He made headlines in June of 2006, when he and Nicole Kidman were married in Sydney. To everyone's dismay, Keith once again had to check himself into rehab in October of 2006. January 2007 he completed his treatment and has started his tour to promote " Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy Thing", his new album.
