James Blunt Biography

James Blunt was born in Tidworth, Wiltshire, England in 1974 and educated at Elstree School, Woolhampton, and then when on to Harrow School. From Harrow School he gained an army sponsored place at Bristol University, before finally completing his education at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst . Blunt's father was in the British Army Air Corps. The Blunt family is also known to have owned and restored Cley windmill.

Being in a family that has been recognized as military members, makes a person wonder how they came to be in the music industry. His father said music of any kind was just unnecessary noise. James Blunt never dodged the military either. One day he found himself in Kosovo with a gun and a guitar strapped to the side of a tank. After his stint in the Army he returned home and headed off to Los Angeles in September 2003, to record with Tom Rothrock. One song, "Goodbye My Lover", was recorded in his landladies' bathroom of all places!

He will be making a guest appearance on Sesame Street to mark their 38th year singing, "My Triangle" to the tune of his hit "My Beautiful".
