Good Charlotte Biography

Straight out of Waldorf, Maryland comes the pop punk band group Good Charlotte. The group has released a total of four albums, but is mainly know for the album "The Young and the Hopeless". Good Charlotte is made up of the members Joel Madden, Benji Madden, Billy Martin, Paul Thomas, and Dean Butterworth.

From 1996 to 1999, the group played in clubs around their hometown when they were noticed by the group Lit. They toured with Lit in 1999 and then started working on tour with the group Blink 182. In 1999, they caught the attention of many record labels, but were signed by Epic Records.

In 2000, the group released their debut album "Good Charlotte". The album went gold and did some good damage on the charts. They released a few songs off the album like "Little Things", Motivation Proclamation", and "Festival Song." In 2002, the group released their biggest selling album "The Young and the Hopeless". The first single from the album was the famous song "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous". This song got great radio play everywhere in the world and made Good Charlotte a household name. The second single from the album was "Girls and Boys", which also got tremendous radio play as like the first single did. Another single, which did really well for the group was their song "The Anthem". The whole album went three times platinum.

The group's third album "The Chronicles of Life and Death" was released in 2004. The album was released in two different versions. The first version was the Life version and the other was the Death version. Each version had a different album cover. There was only 2 singles released off the album called "I Just Wanna Live" and "Predictable". This album went platinum and came in at number 3 on the billboard charts. The group's recent album "Good Morning Revival" was released in early 2007. The first single from the album was "The River". The second single from the album was "Keep Your Hands off my Girl". Both singles didn't do the greatest on the charts, but did ok though. The latest single from the album is "Dance Floor Anthem." The group is starting to come back into the music life and is doing a good job at it. Good Charlotte is going to sure to be around for their loyal fans and the new fans to jump on board for a long while to come.
