Bucky Covington Biography

William Joel "Bucky" Covington III was born on November 8th, 1977 and is an American country singer who found his start with American Idol. Bucky finished in 8th place on the 5th season of American Idol. Bucky was signed with record label Lyric Street Records in 2006 after the American Idol tour. Bucky is a twin brother to Robert David "Rocky" Covington. Their parents are divorced, however, both parents are remarried. Bucky shares his nickname with his grandfather. Bucky is married to his wife Crystal and the only kid they have is their dog named Slim.

Bucky is a very talented guy, not only does he sing country but he is also a rocker as well. When Bucky was 18 he learned how to play the drums, guitar, bassist, and he is a song writer. Bucky's brother Rocky joined Bucky's band as the drummer after American Idol. Rocky and his wife Tina reside in the home with Bucky, his wife Crystal, and of course their baby, Slim.

Since American Idol, Bucky has released his first album entitled "Bucky Covington" on April 17th, 2007 and his first single from the album was "A Different World". His first single went to number 24 on the country charts. This single shows how everything has changed in life since Bucky was a kid. Mark Brown from Sawyer Brown helped Bucky produce his album which is probably one reason the album is doing so well, since Mark Brown has been in the business for many years.

Bucky is also featured on the American Idol CD "American Idol: Encore" with the other finalist. They all sing songs from the Idol challenge that they had covered on the show. After American Idol finished, Bucky was the first finalist to join a big tour that didn't involve Idol called the "GAC Country Christmas Tour".

Bucky is just starting out in the Country world and is looking forward to performing for many years to come. It is no doubt that his first album is going to be a smash hit and make it even better for the many albums to come from Bucky for all his fans to enjoy.
